Disney lives in a time of total decline, much because of its Previous CEO and the very bad productions that have been of low quality.

To reconsider, the next target is this movie, do you think it will fail?

ELEMENTAL-1000.jpg

It looks fine. Maybe a bit heavy handed with its messaging of "Don't treat people who look different, differently!" - But the film itself looks nice. Unique concept, good art direction. Maybe you are looking for a reason to hate it?

I mean sure the social message seems a bit heavy handed, but then again in kids movies some heavy handedness is expected.
But it looks pretty fun

Looks pretty solid to me. Also liking the art direction.

Kinda gives me Zootopia vibes with the whole opposites working together vibe.

Cool concept, but the fire elemental effect doesn't look good or is it just me? I've noticed that fire related anything is hard to make look good whether it's in a game or movie. Idk why CGI fire is so hard to make.

Formula: Anthropomorphize thing and have those things learn how their differences can be a strength
Zootopia - animals
Inside Out - emotions
Elemental - elements
Cars - cars
Planes - planes
Wreck-It-Ralph - video game characters

Next up:
Vanity - bathroom accessories
Vanity 2: 2 Vain - bathroom accessories meet home office supplies

Looks pretty cute to me. I like the art and the theme.

The only thing that bothers me is the message of "who cares what family/friends say, just do whatever you want!" which is fine once in a while, but it seems to be the only thing Disney does nowadays it seems. From Moana to Coco, Wreck-it Ralph (2) and probably a couple more. I wish they'd encourage listening to others for advice some more. That's something kids need to be taught nowadays.

To be fair, most of these Disney movies that came out in the last couple years were greenlit by the current CEO Bob Iger, who was the CEO prior to Bob Chapek. Chapek was only there for 2 years before getting replaced at the end of last year. So whatever Chapek greenlit that are still in production and haven't been canceled by Iger, a lot of those we won't see 'til next year and beyond.

Elemental looks super blah since it's a premise done a million times before and this doesn't look to be doing much of interest with it.

Years of R&D for a generic megabomb lmao
Looking at what happened to the Lightyear people the other week, everyone in the credits here must be sending out their resumes already.

i liked the teaser when i saw it a year ago and the trailer seems good so it will probably bomb.

but ya the art direction for the fire and water characters don't really work but I wouldn't know how to improve it.

I'm surprised people here like the art style, I really hate it. It looks fake and uninspired. Too clashing.

I don't think it'll bomb, but it won't be a blockbuster.

I think he's starting to see kid films through adult eyes lol.

Fire and Water are not elements. They are made of elements. But they are not elements. That is elementary.

I mean it's no secret that Pixar lost their mojo a while back.

But this movie seems like a totally ok normal movie. I'll guess we'll see if there loads of woke shit when it releases...

Can't be as bad as Disney's strange world 🤣

Thank you! Been saying the same thing for a while - Disney is teaching DEFIANCE more than anything recently. In fantasy world, ok. Girl defies parents and build raft to sail the ocean! In reality, consequences that can be serious with a careless message.

It looks like it's going to be one of Pixar's biggest flops ever.

'Elemental' Projected to Earn $40 Million Box Office Opening, Ranking Among Pixar's Lowest

The first round of box office projections for Disney/Pixar's "Elemental" are not looking good, as the original title about a city full of fire, water, plant and air beings is tracking for one of the worst opening weekends in Pixar history.

Currently, "Elemental" is projected for an opening weekend of around $40 million. In the near-30-year history of Pixar feature films, in which 23 have been released theatrically, only two have earned three-day openings of less than $40 million. The first was "The Good Dinosaur" — also from "Elemental" director Peter Sohn — which opened to $35 million over three days on Thanksgiving weekend 2015.

It's currently sitting at a 63% (All) 50% (Top Critics) rating on Rottentomatoes and a 56 on Metacritic.

This movie will bomb.
It just looks like a movie I have seen already a dozen times.
Pixar needs to move on from the, "But Mom, Dad, I am my own person...." formula they have been riding the last few movies.

Meet Lake.... First No Binary character of Pixar.

SON OF A BITCH!!!!

DOESNT LISTEN DISNEY!!!!!

We live in a dystopia where the sexual orientation of fictional animated children's cartoon characters is not only announced but heralded as something amazing. Because, you know, it's very important to know what this fictional being identifies as.

Imagine being so fucking pathetic and vapid that you built your entire personality around your sexual orientation and let that be the only thing that defines you as a person, and you need to know the sexuality of a fucking computer generated animated children's cartoon character with literally zero relevance to the actual real world to match yours in order to make yourself feel good.

Hooray, this fucking rendered character is non binary! My life has meaning now!

Yup.

But at least in movies and tv shows, there's often a plotline regarding trying to get the girl, or boyfriends and girlfriends pissing each other off, etc... So if the story involves romance in some way you got to know their sex orientation.

But in video games, 99% have nothing to do with plots involving sexuality or hooking up, nor does knowing if your character is straight or gay make a difference in any way.

Yet here we are. Characters have to be pre-labeled to the masses which way they go in bed. Weird ass topic for writers to focus on.

I was going to see this movie... I was wondering, it looks normal, there is no inclusion... What can go wrong...???

Now it turns out that I get this character that I don't know if it is a man or a woman.
🙄🙄🙄🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.

And then the Oye PRIMOS crap...

Walt Disney would be horrified to see what is in his industry.

ESG should be made illegal. Racist bullshit.

We don't talk enough about Vanguard and Blackrock + ESG. Those fuckers are two of the main proponents for ESG, and in some ways, they hold power over other companies since they manage trillions in assets and advocate/PUSH for ESG. Almost every Government(mainly West) has dealings with Blackrock and use their Aladdin Hardware.

I've read that Blackrock uses it's Aladdin AI to make investments, such as buying up swathes of farmland, vacant homes and such.. This company worries the fuck out of me when ever I think about how much power it holds. If I didn't know how to block shit like this from my mind, I'd be up at night, more than not.

IMO, we have so many problems that pervade us and persist, but... I think a lot of it is distraction while bigger players are moving shit around, like big money and assets.
I don't claim to have the gist of the bigger picture, but while we deal with "our problems" I feel there are those with huge financial clout, that are getting one over on all of us, while this shitstorm of various problems, domestic and global; seemingly hit us from all sides.

Another Disney flop.

So Elemental actually does look like a flop. Meanwhile The Little Mermaid managed to pull another $11m in its 4th weekend with lots of competition. Should hit the half a billion mark by the time it ends.

Its not a megahit but no way in hell is it a flop...and considering how many people actively boycotted it and wanted it to fail...it's done well enough. You know why? Cuz it's a decent enough film.
