Next target.... ELEMENTAL

I don't normally watch cartoons but I took my kids to see it so I have nothing to compare this too but it seemed ok. What exactly do people expect out of these?
I expect Toy Story, Ratatouille, Wall-E, UP, a timeless classic family film with a lot of heart, wit, universal message carefully integrated into an interesting and cohesive plot that entertains as well as makes you think a bit.

Pixar doesn't always deliver, but those are my expectations.

Disney+ has turned around and bit them in the ass now, films now need to be a major must see to get people to see them, stuff like this which is just OK just has people think "I'll wait a few weeks until it's on Disney+".

Remember when Pixar made films with premises like: what if the monsters in your closet were real and were just trying to do their job? Or what if humans abandoned earth and the last thing left was a trash compactor robot?

Yeah we're now down to infantile trite.

Tried to watch this with my kids last night and we made it 45 minutes in.
Aside from it being gorgeous, it's also tired, unfunny, and predictable. The main, unlikeable characters' defining traits are their temper and inability to not cry at everything.......
It has the standard, unique/special child being misunderstood by their traditional parents angle present in almost every Pixar movie lately, but with a splash of public utility mystery thrown to give it a plot.
Feels like the quality of an early 2000's Dreamworks animation movie - whiff.
