How do I fix the broken-ass Bluetooth?

It constantly loses connection with my devices, especially my car. I thought one of the updates would address this but alas they have not.

Every so often my phone will start to lag and then completely freeze and become unresponsive to even the power button. Any ideas why?

I wiped mine and it feels better.

My bluetooth stops for like half a second a few times a day. It's annoying but not massively annoying.

What are you looking for in your next device?

I use the phone alot to browse the internet and watch youtube, I sometimes download movies to watch on it. Not much of a gamer though.

my phones tend to have hardware failures often though, went through 3 S3s and one HTCM8 I am really unlucky as the phones tend to just break randomly

I'd get the 6P, personally. You don't need Samsung's trashware.

Wait for Apple to force us to finally address shitty wireless protocols.

found this neat app called Pixel Filter for amoled screens that can turn off half the pixels (or however many you want) to save battery life. turning off half the pixels is pretty much unnoticeable due to the pixel density so it's pretty sound in theory.

This is super cool. Saves battery and also keeps my retinas from getting scorched.

It even cycles the patters to prevent uneven burnin.

After years of using my phone 5 I just picked up one of these after reviews showed that it was a rather good android device, not filled with bloatware and has a nice battery life, it's a LOT thinner then it looks in youtube videos.

It feels weird going back to android after years of iOS use but everything so far feels great to use, my last android phone was a single core galaxy ace which I had a long ago that it ran android 2 or 3, I forget.

The DPI is nuts on this thing, I never had an issue with the iphone 5's res but this 6p screen is really REALLY clean to look at. My only issue so far is that the phone was not picking up my wifi until I changed it from channel 12 to channel 6, everything else in the home was connecting to channel 12 fine.

I'm having serious Wi-Fi issues. At work it's fine, but when I get home the phone refuses to reconnect to my network until I:

1. Switch Wi-Fi off
2. Turn it on again
3. Open the list of networks (in the quick settings shade)

At this point it will rediscover my network (it will be missing from the list at first), and then reconnect. If I only do the first two steps it won't connect, nor if I only do #3. I also had to switch to 2.4 GHz only for this to even work, at auto-detect it wouldn't reconnect at all without me restarting the phone. Given that it reconnects automatically at work I guess my old home router is partly to blame, but my Nexus 5 didn't have these issues.

I'm officially on Google Fi. Looking forward to the lower monthly bills.

I'm loving it. I'm getting discounted every month based on how I am using data. Turns out I got more than I need. I'm only recently getting a few problems with Fi here and there but so far it has been pretty good.

check your homes wireless channel, I had to change mine to a lower number before my phone would pick it up, it was odd.

I'm having issues with my wi-fi, too, it really is fucking annoying. It will connect, then will just drop randomly. I go to the list of networks, and mine is listed with 'Saved' written underneath. I tap the network to connect. It says 'Connecting' then switches back to 'Saved' - and this is after turning the wi-fi off and on again.

Anyone know a online reseller for the google case? I don't think the ones on ebay are legit. I can't even access the google store where I live, vpn etc won't work because they block CCs from non google store countries apparently.

Also, any recommendation for a leather case with similar quality to iphone leather cases? Those are amazing.

to those who want more gpu performance out of this phone, i've been messing about with the screen resolution and using developer functions (not jailbreaking the device) I dropped the res to 1080p down from the default 1440p and games like asphalt 8 run a lot smoother now, going to experiment a little more but the little snapdragon 810 performs a lot better at 1080p, you can hardly tell the res difference either.

Paid off my Nexus 5, and now I have cash for rent and other expenses. I'm heading to best buy to buy this new. Hooray, time to take care of it.

How do you do that?

How do you do that?

setup the android debug bridge stuff with a pc/mac, guide here: http://www.howtogeek.com/125769/how-to-install-and-use-abd-the-android-debug-bridge-utility/

Using the ADB prompt you can type this in to change the res and PPI (so icons are not too big or too small):

adb shell wm size 1080x1920
adb shell wm density 420 && adb reboot

Warning though, this is all I did, please be careful with your device!

One thing to note with this method, on reboots the phone will render the android logo at 1440p and change to the new res just before the OS kicks in, so the logo will be cut off the side for a moment, there's nothing wrong with your phone if you see that.

*edit* I felt like testing 720p which is half of the default res, performance wasn't that different to 1080p and the image quality is a noticible drop obviously.

I've been having issues with since day 1. It does it with every network I connect to and it drives me insane.

Wi-Fi is nearly unusable, I really hope the sort it out soon.

My phone takes forever to send and receive MMS on T-Mobile. Is there a fix or am I screwed when it comes to this?

You're screwed. I have T-mobile and It used to take like and hour for me to receive messages when i was texting this girl who also had T-mobile. The messages would come out of order as well. It also happened with my Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 though.

Think I need to do a factory reset.

Or get a custom ROM. The phone slows down like crazy everyday and I can barely get 3 hrs SOT.

It's frustrating me

Got a 6P a couple weeks ago, and really loving it so far. It's really nice to have a phone that doesn't burn through battery while idle. First phone I've had with a fingerprint reader, love how quick it is.

Couple questions, is there anyway to filter the contacts within the dialer to show only contacts with a phone number?

Also anyone have any recommendations on the best wall and car chargers? Doing a little research it seems like a lot of USB-C cables and adapters aren't made to spec and can fry devices. Hoping to get a car charger that can rapid charge, and also need another wall charger for work. Is it possible to just buy the charger that comes with the phone somewhere?

Anyone running the Dev Preview 2? I'll probably give it a run later today after work. If they fixed just a bit of the jankyness from the first I'll probably run it as my daily.

Same. I want to hear impressions!

What has everyone been getting in terms of USB-C accessories?

I was thinking of picking up this Anker PowerCore 20100+ Battery Pack that has USB-C
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014ZO46LK/?tag=neogaf0e-20
Im wondering if it actually charges at 5V/3A

I cant seem to find any 1ft USB-C to USB-C cables. Seems like the shortest I can find are 3ft/1m from Anker or the OEM cable.

Kinda hoping the HTC 10 launch drives more USB-C accessory demand.

According to Anker's page for the PowerCore 20100+:

The PowerCore+ 20100 is compatible with Android, Apple and almost all other devices charged via USB. It has a maximum output of 6A shared between the two normal output ports and one type-c output port. The current of two normal output ports will reach up to 3A and the type-c output port's max current will be 3A.

I've also been eying this pack for awhile now. I'm hoping Anker will have another Amazon Gold Box in the future so I can grab one. ^_^

Right that's the discharge current, but I meant charging the powercore itself with a USB c charger. So can I put 5V/3A into it.

Really would be optimal if they made a battery pack that complied with the new Power Delivery standard so it can be charged by a compliant charger which goes up to 20v @ 3A like the Pixel Charger

Well this is neat:

Honestly, I'm not much for a case either, but for the price, it's kind of fantastic. Also, I like that it's more of a clip on case than a full rubber covering case.

So how solid is this phone?

I would like to buy it for someone as a gift, as she indicated that she wants a large phone, and I see some positive reviews but at the same time I'm doubting the purchase due to the issues I'm seeing people mention on this page etc.

Are issues like it working really slowly after a while widespread?

I have no slowing issue and I've had it since almost day 1.

anyone running CM13?

I did for few weeks, but I had to go back to stock because of major Bluetooth issues with CM13. Audio playback to BT devices is borderline unusable, with sound skipping, crackling and stuttering. I even tried it in combination with custom kernels (ElementalX and Franco) but the issue didn't go away.

I liked CM13 for everything else, especially their theme engine is pretty awesome, but I use BT for 95% of my audio listening and that was a deal breaker.

Now I'm running stock with ElementalX kernel plus Xposed and Gravity Box for the UI customization. It works like a charm.

It sucks on stock too... Maybe I should try different radios? I used to have to do that on old Android phones.

This is awesome.
Just made one for my sister for her birthday with her dog. The options are really cool and it's easy to put one together. Delivery date isn't until the end of the month, but I can't wait to see it

Yup.
I'm not a case person, but I might end up making one designed around the brand for the company I work for. Will be neat to have on my phone for some of the trade shows I'm sent to from time to time.
