I think my phone is starting to overheat. All I'm doing is Snapchatting and everything was lagging and bugging out. Weird.

Mine does this too, but I notice it more with the keyboard. I'll type and it'll freeze for a second and enter the long press key item. Bugs the hell out of me.

I accidentally broke my Nexus 5 today, so I'm going to have to get a new phone now. :(
I was leaning towards the 6p I guess. Bf suggested One Plus One X or 2. I was also kinda thinking of getting the iPhone 6s+ since I've never had an iphone before.

I kinda remember the 6p had bending problems. Is that still true?

Any of these big phones will bend when you put enough pressure on them. But unless your always sitting on your phone or something you really have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Does anyone know if there's there a way to disable the video camera's auto light adjusting thing? It's driving me nuts, so much that I wish I had my old S3 camera back sometimes.

Does anyone know the settings I need to modify in order to enable tethering & portable hotspot on ATT? I have a Nexus 5X but I figure the same would apply to a 6P.

Resolved my issue - ATT had to enable something on their end - something about network differences between iPhone and Android. Used the online chat feature of their website - it was surprisingly painless.

It's still bullshit. I (used to frequently) switch between my iPhone and Android phone and had to contact them every time I went from Android -> iPhone (for some reason their system works if you go iPhone -> Android...)

How the fuck can your billion dollar company not automatically switch data plans when a user switches devices?

Just bought one. Can't wait!

Had a nexus 4 which I adored, but moved country and got set up with the company's shitty phone system.

I'm finally free!

Enjoy! It is a great phone, I have had it since December and have had no problems with it. Coming from an iPhone 6 this was like a night and day difference of an upgrade.

Just send it back to Amazon for a replacement. If you say it's defective when requesting a return they'll let you exchange it.

Sent it back to Amazon, that was pretty painless. I received the replacement yesterday, unfortunately it has the exact same problem, very noticeable yellow tint. Decided to just get a refund, I don't have any desire to keep playing the exchange game. Now I need to look for a really cheap android phone ($200 or less, preferably less) that will work on Verizon. Really disappointing experience and dunno how that makes it past QC.

How am I supposed to copy shit over to my PC? I connected it to my computer but nothing shows in the folder.

EDIT: NVM found the option on the phone.

Welp, my screen cracked after only having this for a couple months. It was in my pocket, and when I took it out, the screen was fucked :(

What is the best solution for car charging? I'm looking cables on Amazon and it seems most of them can't charge at full speed, I'm willing to pay extra for rapid charging.

I'm considering this as a replacement for my Lumia 930. I'm looking for some user-experiences. How is the batterylife? Any quirks in the software? Anything that bugs you or stands out?

Active Battery life is good, but it depends on what you're used to. You'll get around 4-4 1/2 hours on WiFi, a little less off. Watching video, you'll get more than browsing web pages. Standby battery life? Is pretty bananas. Assuming you're at a wifi hotspot, or not using your phone a whole lot during the day, you can get 3 or 4 days of standby off this thing. It's genuinely impressive.

Quirks? Whilst the camera hardware is fantastic, unless you're shooting HDR mode, the app just can't capture 'amazing' images. Some models have an issue with the front facing speakers whereby the top one is louder than the bottom.

My advice? Get a silver or white one, rather than a black one.

Have been on Project Fi for a couple weeks now. I'm getting equal or better service than Verizon. Very happy so far. Call quality is certainly better (...though I only have a few phone calls a week).

My main gripe with the Nexus 6P is the camera. The photos it actually takes are pretty good (particularly low light), but I've had way too many instances of the software taking too long to connect to the camera (not just a Google Camera app issue, I observed it with Snapchat as well) or the phone choking while processing photos I took, resulting in not being able to take more. YMMV of course, but I get frustrated when I feel like I can't trust my device. In general I think it's a great phone, but the camera issues are a dealbreaker for me personally.

I don't understand why this phone lags and stutters so much. I just freakin got it a month ago

I've had major performance problems on my S5 after updating to Lollipop awhile back. I've been looking at the 6p thinking my problem was old hardware, but hearing this makes me wonder if it's an Android issue.

I just buy a power bank and leave that in my car. Then remember to change the power bank every couple of days.

Is there a hands down, best in class screen protector or case for the Nexus 6P? Don't really care if it's expensive or not.

I just use a cigarette lighter -> USB port adapter and plug in the USB cables that came with the phone.

Anybody on Verizon had issues with the phone not dialing, hanging up mid-call, and automatically hanging up when you answer?

It's really annoying and I'm not sure what to do.

Not for me. The only issue I have is how it handles voicemails. It shows a garbled mess of a text, which basically translates to me having a voicemail.

Does do rapid charging? Would be nice if you can recommend me one if so.

I'm pretty sure the bottleneck for rapid charging is the kind of cable you use, so the ones that came with your phone should be fine. I would assume any cig lighter adapter would suffice. I'm not sure, though. I don't recall if it says "rapid charging" on my phone when I charge in my car.

This phone is shit.

I've written about my Bluetooth headaches before and NexusGAF told me I should RMA so I did and I have exactly the same problems (what a waste of a new phone). Also, this is a common problem (despite what NexusGAF claims) and there are complaints all over the Google tech support site but Google will not address. There even was a recent thread on GAF about this by someone else http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?p=194648162

Performance degrades horribly over time and restarting the device does not help (I know because I have to restart 1-2 times a day to get Bluetooth to work).

Before this I had the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, OnePlus One, and Nexus 6 as personal phones and iPhone 4s and Samsung Note 4 as work phones. These all worked flawlessly with exactly the same Bluetooth devices (except the N6 which had to be rebooted 1-2 times a week to connect sometimes but that is way better than the 6P - since upgrading to Marshmallow though that device now has the same problems). Basically, I hate this phone, I loved it at first but over time it becomes a huge pain in the ass. You cannot imagine how fucking annoying it is to be on an important work call in my car and the Bluetooth just to disconnect mid call.

Also I have to redo my fingerprints every few weeks because the phone just stops recognizing my fingers. It's just annoying. A smartphone should be a tool that helps you, not a major pain in the ass.

After a long string of Nexus devices it looks like this will be my last. Sorry Google but your software fucking sucks.

On the fingerprint miscues, how long has it gone well before experiencing issues?

Wish there was more accessories for this phone. I understand it's not an iphone or galaxy but damn.

Need a decent dock, battery case, etc.

Interesting... I was thinking of going for the Nexus 6P but wouldn't be able to deal with Bluetooth issues. I have a Nexus 6 now and love it, but want a finger print sensor because I hate having to 4-digit my way to my work calendar.

My N6 works pretty flawleslly with bluetooth... I had a iPhone 5 before this and that definitely took longer to connect to my car Bluetooth than the N6, which is probably about 15 seconds after I start my car (about as long as it takes to back out of my driveway, where as my iPhone 5 was about as long as it tok to get to the end of my street).

So I'd be disappointed if the 6P had bluetooth issues, especially in the car for me.

Aiii

So not worth it
For what it is worth, my Wear watch, Parrot carset and Sony wireless headphones (MDR-1ABT) work flawlessly with the 6P, no issues at all.

I had to RMA mine a couple times because I was having phone quality issues (people on the other end were saying I sounded muffled or far away when using the handset).

Ever since I got my last one, though, it works fine, and is the best phone I've ever owned. Very happy with it so far.

Jumped on-board the B&H deal for a 64GB N6P. I'm in Japan but plan to grab it from my parents when I visit in a few weeks so I'm pretty excited to try it out, especially after the new updates. I haven't used a big phone in a while so it will take some getting used to, but I definitely miss it at times, and the dual front-facing speakers are a plus as well.

Just received my phone back after an RMA due to a cracked screen. My screen cracked because I couldn't remove the 6P Folio case (official Google case) and I put too much pressure on it trying to do so. I'm not the only one who has experienced this problem, which is pretty concerning on Google's end.

So anyways, Huawei was able to remove it with some wizardry and sent it back to me alongside my repaired phone. I'm not going to put that shit back on though, so I'm hoping someone here can help recommend a case. I'm usually not one for aesthetics, but the 6P is gorgeous and naturally I'd prefer a case that showed it off. Only one's I can find that do that are from Spigen.

I'm open to suggestions though and am just generally curious what most of you use. I don't want anything crazy looking, so no gamer-esque ridiculous design.

I am not experiencing any of your issues. Like people have said, it's not affecting everyone. The phone might not be compatible with your car bluetooth system. It depends on what car you have. As for the fingerprints, I haven't changed/updated mine since December and they work flawlessly.

Are the issues with phones bending common? I'm considering getting a Nexus 6P, but I really turned off my the dozens upon dozens of Reddit posts with people saying their phone ended up bent near the power button bezel and Huawei refuses to acknowledge it as a defect and don't offer warranty support for it. It would be hard to drop $400 on a new phone only to have it bend a month or two later and being told to pound sand when I attempt to get it fixed.

I dislike thought processes like this. You have a problem, you search the Internet for said problem, some people have the same problem, you conclude all devices are broken and it's a massive defect. No, people will complain and post and look for answers more than people will post rave reviews of their perfectly fine device. It sucks that these problems occur and you can't get the support you want.
