Most amazing thing I heard from week one - In his 8 year career Joe Thomas has never missed s snap. Not game, not series, snap.

It looks to me like Troy is supposed to be covering that gap in both of those gifs, but I'm not sure. I am sure that Timmons played them both like shit.

Troy definitely got washed out in that first play.

Timmons looks like he's playing it like it's drawn up and not how it was actually going.

don't do that to me. we are fellow pirates :(

Let’s Replace Roger Goodell With A Pineapple In A Top Hat

Hahaha..

Just because Goodell is turning a profit doesn’t mean some other candidate — say, a well-dressed, spiky tropical fruit — couldn’t earn at least as much, if not more. Just think of its negotiating power:

NETWORK EXEC: Dang it, look. You got us in the last deal, but we’re not doing $8 billion per year. Just can’t happen. Highest I’ll go is five.

PINEAPPLE COMMISSIONER: [says nothing, is a pineapple in a top hat]

NETWORK EXEC: Oh, you wanna play hardball, you fancy son of a bitch? I see how it is. $6 billion a year, final offer.

PINEAPPLE COMMISSIONER: [continues saying nothing, is still a pineapple in a top hat]

NETWORK EXEC: God dammit, fine. $8 billion it is. You shrewd bastard. You got me again. We’ll see how high and mighty you are next time around.

PINEAPPLE COMMISSIONER: [tips over, rolls off conference table]

I love seeing corporations design shitty We Remember graphics for their social media accounts.
probably because they have a Buckethead working for them that decided he was too good for it, and it got pushed on the lowly intern that only has a pirated copy of mspaint

My brother was at Nike headquarters this week. He called me to tell me he bought me a Manziel jersey.

So there ya go my first Browns jersey and I didn't have a say in it. :(

Happy b-day dutch. So cursed navy blue jerseys for Dallas on Sunday. Also Romo has the most passing yards thru 100 games (27,485) suck it rest of the nfl qb's. Live by the Romo die by the Romo :(

Greg Bedard breaks down Packers defense and Pats defense
Problems with the Packers said:
The problem starts on the defensive line, where the personnel did not match up to the scheme. The Packers, despite professing a switch to a 4-3 under coordinator Dom Capers (whose specialty has always been a 3-4 zone blitz), played most of the game in a variation of the 3-4. Players like Datone Jones (6-4, 285 pounds), Letroy Guion (6-3, 303), Mike Daniels (6-0, 294) and Josh Boyd (6-3, 310) anchored the line. Boyd’s the only one who physically fits the bill as a 3-4 end, but he’s very green. Jones isn’t heavy enough for end, Daniels lacks the height and arm length, and Guion isn’t quite heavy enough for nosetackle. Green Bay inexplicably left the one big body they have, promising undrafted free agent Mike Pennel (6-4, 332), on the inactive list against Seattle. The Packers were thin at nosetackle because they basically put all their eggs into the basket of B.J. Raji (6-2, 337), and his season-ending injury decimated those plans.

Bedard On Pats Defense said:
The Patriots, on the other hand, have a lot of options because Bill Belichick adapts his defense week to week. The scheme in the 33-20 loss to the Dolphins obviously was a misstep. Despite being a 4-3 heavy hybrid since the start of the ’11 season, New England decided to go with a lot of three-man lines, be it 3-4 in base or a 3-3-5 nickel. That called for Chandler Jones, an edge player at end/outside linebacker his first two years in the league, to play on the interior of the line. That was a mistake; Jones played one of his worst games as pro because the coaches did not put him in a position to be successful. Vince Wilfork played a solid, if rusty, game almost a year removed from tearing his Achilles. Joe Vellano was the other starter and is much too small at 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds for a 3-4. Rookie Dominique Easley (6-2, 290) was miscast on the interior as well. Backup Sealver Siliga (6-2, 325 and strong) better fits the mold. An ankle injury to the quick and strong Chris Jones (6-1, 309) might have been one of the reasons why the Patriots used more of a three-man line.

Just highlights how poor of a coaching job Patricia/Belichick did. Patricia in particular was garbage.

Pats are going to clamp down on the run. Don't think Belichick is going to let Patricia fuck this one up. I bet we see the Pats play more 4-3 this week than last.

Bill runs the defense as much as Patricia and should get equal if not more blame for their performance.

No doubt. I just hate Patricia more so it's a personal bias. If the scheme is garbage once again that's on bill. I'm pretty sure he is going to change it, but if the calls are again vanilla that's on Patricia. The dude is afraid of calling blitzes or doing anything exotic. I would love to see a single high safety with Chung/another player in the box or blitzing etc. If Jennings beats Revis than so be it, but I'm going to bet on Revis to win that match up most of the time.

Edit: Also, Vellano has no fucking business playing unless it's an obvious passing down. Like 3 and 10+. He is horrific against the run.

FOOTBALL!

I know I've been saying the Ravens will start 0-14, and I've been about 40% joking, but if we look bad tonight, I'm not sure if I'm joking at all anymore.

If Harrison Smith stays healthy he will be considered one of the best free safeties in the league by the end of the season.

True/False?

Harrison Smith is a stud. He is a lot like Nick Collins in the sense that he never gets the respect he deserved.

Unless you're an overaggressive samoan with stupid hair it seems no one really cares about safeties. You need a gimmick and multiple blown coverages to really stand out.

No point in blitzing in the 2nd half when it was 2nd and short and 3rd and short nearly every time. Their non existent run defense neutered their play calling.

So glad we managed to offload the Truck for a high price and pick up two new modes of transport for cheap:

Crowell Car

To be fair....West should have broken outside and tried to beat the corner or run him over instead of juking inside.

Revis is may beat Jennings, but Patterson is no small threat also. Combine those two with Rudolph and AP, and the Vikings certainly do have some option on offense. The real question is if our defense can play as well against the Pats as they did against the Rams. That will be the real show on who wins.

People forget that the positions of a comish was created after the black sox scandal to protect the sport and the product.

A comish needs to protect the product and that's not just the 32 owners.

Honestly I hope that the government stats to question whether the NFL should be classified as a non-profit and now is the time to do it. Espically considering the amount of public money that the NFL receives.

Is it really good for the sport to have owners like Jerry Jones and Jim Irsay?

Goodell went hard on concussions not just because of the lawsuit but because of the implications of the future of the sport.

No sport wants to turn into boxing where the most popular athlete is unable to live a normal life because of damage done in the sport.

Jam all the receivers, make Brady beat you over the top. Dont give him anything short.

Does this go for every sport, or should the NFL be held to some higher standard?
