Read some pretty good takes that the catch rules are gussied up pro-offense rules. For every disputed end zone catch that becomes incomplete, there are 3 or 4 in the field of play that would become fumbles. Coaches would get (rightfully) more conservative about throwing it if bang bang throws became fumbles
