NFL 2016 Week 15 |OT| We didn't do it

Detroit plays at the third-slowest pace in the league, taking just a shade over 29 seconds per play; only Dallas and Miami take longer out of the huddle to the snap of the ball. And while Detroit plays at such a relaxed pace, it’s not so surprising that the Lions actually lead the NFL in a time of possession per drive (TOP/Dr), holding onto the ball for an average of 3 minutes and 17 seconds each time they get on offense.

Nice little stat the Lions have had this season. Time of Possession and Turnover Differential are probably two of the most important team stats when looking at a team overall.

Of course all this potential playoff success is predicated on Matthew Stafford and the health of his middle finger.

This is actually incredible given how horrid the Lions have been in moving the ball and in run blocking.

Yeah, it really is impressive considering how bad our run offense is. I'm not sure it's the blocking either because none of our RBs sans Ameer Abdullah are hard North-South runner.

It seemed like Ameer Abdullah could potentially carry the burden until he got hurt. Theo Riddick is one of the most exciting players in the game but he's not a traditional running back.

Hopefully we can get some yards out of Dwayne Washington these next 3 games. He seems to run hard when he's healthy.

Either way I think we're looking at a RB in the first 3 rounds next year even with the return of Ameer Abdullah.

Take the South division from each conference, and blow it up. Every year, take the worst four teams from each conference and form a new division. Call it the NFC Shit or whatever, doesn't matter. None of the divisional games for the NFC Shit are televised on prime time.

Disperse the other teams in a reasonable manner to make 4 divisions. If teams climb out of the bottom four, they can go back to their original division, if possible. Seeding will always prioritize putting teams back in their original division whenever possible.

Teams now have to fight to stay out of the shit division, and fight to get back if they fail.

I like your idea, we can name the NFC one the Jeff Fisher Memorial Division and the AFC version the Cleveland Browns division.

When your QB is the fattest in the league, it takes him a little longer to get from the huddle to the LoS.
