Now yes, she did. The story goes that Mixon and his friends were harrassing her and her friend, calling her friend gay. Mixon claims that first the friend threw a racial slur at him. Then she went into the store and he followed her in there. Apparently she was also drunk. As you can see, she pushes him, he makes a move toward her, she slaps him, and he decks her.

But I don't see why that matters. You can't claim that he was doing it in self-defense, look at how much bigger he is. And I don't buy the whole "Oh she hit him, she should expect consequences". You can claim it's sexist or that if it was a guy no one would care (it would still be assault) but I don't really care. No matter what the girl was doing, unless she had a weapon, there's no threat. She's probably barely 120 lbs, and he's a 230 lb NFL-bound RB. He should've been able to handle her without violence, and there's no reason for him to hit her like that.

I'm not defending him. I don't care if he gets drafted. It's just hilarious that it takes video for people to realize what domestic violence is.

That type of behavior always has and probably always will be in the NFL. He's rightfully being called out for it, but the next step should be calling out every NFL player like him.

Let's say Mixon doesn't find a team, the issue still isn't going away, but I guarantee it won't be discussed once the season kicks off. People will just turn a blind eye to the other offenders because there is no video. It happened with Ray Rice and it'll happen after Joe Mixon.

Ah.

Honestly I hate to be that guy but it's 2017. We need to get past automatically handwaving girls getting hit, especially when they hit first. If we truly want equality in society we have to bury these antiquated notions and be fair.

That said, two problems with this video. 1. Yeah she hit him, with the most half hearted slap i've ever seen. The Falcon Punch he retaliated with was way over the line, and you could tell he had it loaded up even before she hit him.

2. I'm all for equality, but i'm also for being judged by the merit of your actions. Sure she may have hit you first, but what did blasting her in the face gain you? She was no threat. Apparently he was the one who wanted the video released? Stupid moves. All this shows is that he has zero impulse control.

Personally, I can't wait to see who drafts him (and he will be drafted) mainly because I can't wait to see which poster backs off his condemnation when his team of choice takes him.

I feel there has to be a limit to how far you can flex to take the team's side on things. You don't have to pre-defend the Eagles drafting a dude who punched out a woman on camera. I understand the point you are making. Adrian Peterson most likely didn't become an abuser at the age of 28 and it is fucked up that basically everyone gave him a pass.

Teams and fans are willing to empathize and give murderers a pass as long as they improve their team.

I can still say Joe Mixon is a player I don't want on my team as a person. I know exactly what he did, even if that makes me a hypocrite.

They should try to align teams playing on TNF with the same bye week, and then just put TNF as the first game back after the bye

Wouldn't work in all cases but it would help a bit

The gender has little to do with it. If he would have hit a guy in that same way it would have still been assault. Self defense doesn't mean "you touched me so I get to tee off on you" the way some people seem to think it does.

1. I know in our mock Browns took Trubisky, but think Mahomes is in consideration at 12. Was saying the previous weeks I wouldn't be surprised, but kinda got off that the week of our mock. But a week out of draft I think Mahomes is in it, in terms of qbs for Browns.

2. I know the NFL wants to have big events spread out, but kinda hate this prime time schedule release. The time to release that was the morning in my opinion -_- im watching the NBA playoffs, not the damn NFL schedule release.

I think the Bucs are going to get at least three prime time games, maybe four. I just want the game in Miami to be at the end of the season so I don't melt.

The schedule release time doesn't really matter. It's not important enough to follow live, if you go to your respective beat writers the next day they'll have the full schedule and a bunch of analysis. Pretty much anything is worth watching over it

Dont know yet but there two knowns that happen every damn year for some reason:

1) We will play the Colts in Indy late in the season. The games never flip!

2) We will have a stupid amount of prime time games. We suck at night

EDIT: Also worried that this year the second game of the MNF Double Header will be Texans @ Seahawks
