NFL 2017 Week 5 |OT| Free fallin', I'm-a free fallin'

Skip trying to defend the Cowboys losing to Rodgers is the absolute best way to start this morning.

On the Giants, if you're Eli Manning, what do you do right now? Your line can't defend you, your receivers can't play without getting injured and running backs are nowhere to be found. Wouldn't you be scared for your health/longevity unless he plans to try and play next year?

Joe Six-Pack: posting for the common man
Watson might put up a lot of Brees numbers this year as bad as the Texans defense is. Can’t believe they are getting excuses. Yes they lost Mercilllus and Watt, but to only force one punt when the game was in the balance? Inexcusable

i mean they only lost two of the three best pass rushers, and they got beat by not having a pass rush to contain Smith, i cant believe they couldnt force more punts?

i mean Aaron Rodgers is only a QB i cant believe the packers couldnt win games without him.

What do you mean they couldnt run the ball? They only lost their two best running backs.

Even without Watt and Mercilus the D was pretty damn good on first and second down, they contained Hunt really well. They got beat because they couldnt keep contain Smith particularly on third down, they'd get close to him and he would just escape the pocket. At some point you just recognize you got beat by a better player and a better team.

You dont just "next man up" Mercilus and Watt. You could maybe lose one of them, like you did Watt last year, but both? No.

What's wrong with YOU? We are the same team if we lost to JAX when Marquis Lee dropped a pass right in his hands in easy field goal range. We are the same team if we lost to Cleveland if their kicker could make a ******* field goal and they didn't turn the ball over twice near the goal line while OUR kicker made a 57 yard field goal and THEIR COACH didn't do what NO ONE on EARTH does and gives away three points in a close game and then runs the ball right up the middle where he couldn't get a yard TO BEGIN WITH. We are the same team that beat Jay Cutler who got shutout by a worse D than the Pats and then only put up 13 against the OTHER worse D. We are STILL THAT TEAM, except now, we don't have a shot at Darnold or Rosen. So yeah, life is not ******* awesome right now in Jetland. It actually ******* sucks. You just don't feel it because you're half asleep while your dog is licking your balls but you're dreaming that it's Kate ******* Upton.

It doesn't really get worse than this. They're going to win enough games to give Todd Bowles an extension at this rate. Its incredibly frustrating because they've actually been complete trash who should be 1-4 right now but the Jags and Browns literally gave their games away

Jalen Ramsey + A.J. Bouye: 64 targets, 25 receptions, 340 yards, 0 TDs, 4 INTs (30.72 passer rating)

Spiking the Ball: 39.58 passer rating

It's surprisingly really difficult to go 0-16

Browns had to fight for 2 years to #DoingIt if they pull it off this time

Giants had literally everyone but Eli die

Giants may do it, who do they have left on offense? And no, Eli doesnt count because that dummy probably cant count past three anymore with both hands and feet and his head coach helping.

Holy hell thats beautiful.

Cam Newton oscillates between the best QB in the league and the worst QB in the league on a monthly basis.

Very peculiar

Like the New Orleans fucking Saints made him look like a DII college QB...now he looks like a HOFamer

There are only 3 quarterbacks (min. 3 starts) with a worse QB Rating than Ben Roethlisberger this season (75.8). Kizer, Flacco, and Culter.

So the Giants may be able to find Eli's replacement with the way they're playing.

Bills are fucked. They have no WRs, lost Clay, some injuries on D, just don't have the depth to overcome it. Good start but I doubt they do much going forward. To be +3 in turnovers and still be down with 2 minutes to play is ridiculous.

Juan Castillo and Dennison need to be shot into the sun. Said it before the year, Shady was in for a tough year. They took a gap run scheme with plenty of QB run options and tossed it away for their zone run scheme. Another case of being the smartest men in the room. Unreal.

Sucks. Look at it this way chuck:

no matter how bad it gets with injuries, players underachieving, questionable coaching decisions we both are fans of teams that have good, young kickers.

I mean what kind of team in this day and age cant seem to get even a decent kicker?

Yeah I couldn't imagine trying to handicap Panthers games since you don't know what you are going to get from Cam one week to the next. I think Benjamin is going to abuse the Eagles secondary but hopefully Wentz and the O can do enough to overcome that. Should be a really good Thursday night game.

Great game by the Pack but my GOD we need to tighten up our defense. Defense wins championships and we need to realize this and figure this shit out, fast! Cant' rely on Rodgers every single damn game.

The Packers defense isnt getting fixed until Capers is gone. The defense has been figured out years ago, and we've put a lot of focus into defense in the draft.

The good news is that Josh Jones and Kevin King are studs.

So glad we got rid of Gus. The entire time he was here the Jags ran basically a bend but don't break defense... last year this defense would of had a lot of turnovers too if he allowed Ramsey to be more aggressive, and didn't have Gipson playing 30 yards back from the line of scrimmage.

Houston finally finding their next Warren Moon and then having their defense blow up in the same year is the most Houston Sports thing ever.

Shit sucks

It's like some Pittsburgh fan made a deal with the devil by hating Flacco so hard that he had to give up his own QB.

I honestly had doubt Watt would make it the season, but Mercilus sucks. But the good news is Watson still has 4 years on his contract and is still a rookie. He should get better and in the next few years hopefully the defense doesn't die again. They'll have other runs

Michael Jordan retiring probably helped too

Maybe if Brady finally hangs it up...

Well to be fair, they played okay against the Chiefs who are currently the best team in the league. With the exception of the Rams maybe, I think they could go on a run for the rest of the year and make the playoffs for sure. Division games are weird though so they'll probably lose a few of those also.

I still do not understand why AJ Bouye was not franchise tagged. The worst that could happen would be that he would be confirmed a one year wonder and then let go.

Tibial Plateau Fracture is worse than an ACL but not career threatening, like whut???

I bet he winds up with the Titans next year. I am curious how long Jimmy Haslam is going to be okay with the tank going on in the cleve. At some point if they don't start winning heads are gonna roll.

Titans HAVE a good GM...... only way he goes there is if he become part of ownership. Which I still feel is in play

He's only really had one truly bad game this year. You could argue the Bills but that's a good defense and he did pass the ball well even though we couldn't finish in the redzone. He's actually off to a faster start now then the MVP year, with more yards, touchdowns and a higher completion %. Not bad for a guy coming off shoulder surgery that only started practicing regularly 2 weeks ago.

They would have had to pay him $14m for this year if he played under the tag. I guess they didn't want to pay him that much and they were worried about being able to reach a long term deal for less money. Obviously it really hurt to let him go and especially to a division rival.

I'm surprisingly not too down on the Packers defense this year. Dallas's offense is good, we were banged up, and we managed to stop Zeke for three quarters before he finally started to break through. If the Packers can get healthy in the 2nd half of the year they're going to be a tough out come playoff time. The only team that really seems built to stop them is Atlanta

Given how the only notable free agent signing was "OMG MEAN STREAK" Breno Giacomini and how he and the rest of the O-Line fucking sucks, they had to have known that they had more than enough cap space to spare after they would tag Bouye like they should have. Rick Smith had all the leverage in the world and instead gave all that away.

It's also fucking stupid how Xavier Su'a Filo continues to get so many undeserving chances when he's obviously a 2nd Round BUST. Him, Chris Clark, and Breno Giacomini ought to get thrown out onto Kirby Drive Jazz style.
