Neighbours from Hell
If you aren't an NFL fan, you won't care about this, but for NFL fans, this channel was basically a gift from the heavens. It's a show that switches back and forth between every game on every Sunday with no commercials, so you don't miss any touchdown or any action. Well, it was a channel owned by NFL Network, which recently was purchased by Disney/ESPN, so naturally... for 2025 and onward there will be commercials!
Which essentially defeats the entire purpose of the channel. Because there are a ton of games going on at once, it at a very frantic pace needs to switch back and forth between games at rapid speed. Anyone who watches this channel knows if you even leave the room to take a piss, you could miss multiple big plays and such. Now they will be cutting to commercials throughout the broadcast.
It's been a long time since I've seen a collective group of fans of any one thing unanimously so outraged. NFL is king in America, NFL fans love this, and they are livid. We'll see if ESPN pulls a Cracker Barrel and caves, but as it stands right now, this once-great channel will now have commercials, and of course it's going to drastically affect it. I don't see how it couldn't. And it's a premium service that you pay extra for, so it feels extra dirty to add commercials to it.
