NFL fans: the once great commercial-free NFL RedZone channel will have commercials starting this season

Neighbours from Hell
If you aren't an NFL fan, you won't care about this, but for NFL fans, this channel was basically a gift from the heavens. It's a show that switches back and forth between every game on every Sunday with no commercials, so you don't miss any touchdown or any action. Well, it was a channel owned by NFL Network, which recently was purchased by Disney/ESPN, so naturally... for 2025 and onward there will be commercials!

Which essentially defeats the entire purpose of the channel. Because there are a ton of games going on at once, it at a very frantic pace needs to switch back and forth between games at rapid speed. Anyone who watches this channel knows if you even leave the room to take a piss, you could miss multiple big plays and such. Now they will be cutting to commercials throughout the broadcast.

It's been a long time since I've seen a collective group of fans of any one thing unanimously so outraged. NFL is king in America, NFL fans love this, and they are livid. We'll see if ESPN pulls a Cracker Barrel and caves, but as it stands right now, this once-great channel will now have commercials, and of course it's going to drastically affect it. I don't see how it couldn't. And it's a premium service that you pay extra for, so it feels extra dirty to add commercials to it.

They must hate their audience. For the service RedZone provides, I'm sure most would rather take a price hike than intrusive ads.

Are they stopping the action to show ads? Or will they be splitscreen with the games still on screen?

Stopping the action. It was said that these won't be ad overlays, but actual full cuts to commercials.

Didn't care for RedZone, probably would have loved it were it around in my fantasy football heyday. I used to subscribe to Sunday Ticket, but with the way they shit out rights to random games to random ass streaming services I'm done with giving them another dime. Salaam my StreamEast Egyptian brothers, your sacrifice shall not be forgotten and the globalists will one day be defeated. Pretty sure I'll still be able to find a stream of uncertain legality on a weekly basis.

I don't know about Redzone, with direct tv there's commercials on every channel.

Our Announcement Regarding Recent New
The recent news refers to the Streameast network — the group running under the streameast name and creating fake websites. We are not connected to them in any way (we're not even Egyptian :KEKW: ).

We have not been raided, and our streams and work continue as usual.

As we've always said: Do not use fake sites!

The mouse missed....

"And during the break this AMAZING interception followed by 11 broken tackles leading to a 109 yard touchdown to win the division!!!! A play so spectacular it will be replayed for all time as the greatest play ever! People will be telling their grandkids where they were when they saw this live. Well, I will. You at home didn't see it live. So you can't say shit to anybody."

Omg who let you out of ur cage? Are you making NFL thread?
I can't, in good conscience, make the NFL thread. I can, in bad conscience, participate in the NFL thread but only because I'm from Buffalo and we have a top 3 team in the league. Should the season script drive Buffalo out of the top 3, I will avoid all NFL content.

You go make the thread, but make sure it's sponsored by FanDuel.

I don't think ESPN owns red zone yet to make these decisions.

Isn't going to be picture-in-picture style like racing/golf.

Still sucks but I think will be able to see what is happening.

I'm still going to be ponying up the money for it though! (Think most people still will; any drops would associate with the economic uncertainty in America aka republican president/legislative control=economic downturn. Been happening consistently for decades no reason to think not happening again.

Personally I don't think this is a big deal at all.

1, they already have those ads on the screen that shrink the size of the actual game they are showing. I'm not naive enough to think commercials will replace the ads we already have, but it's not as if Redzone didn't have ads/commercials already.

2, NFL games are full of a fuck ton of commercials. There's no way this is remotely close to the amount of commercials the games have.

3, it's not like they can't just catch you up on what you missed during a commercial break. You already don't actually see every touchdown live because they are flipping through so many games.

Yeah fuck that. Youtube and basically every streaming service starts out completely fine until revenue starts to dry up and then they add this.

The greed of the nfl knows no bounds. 1 minute of ads will become 5 minutes until it's 30 minutes. 17 game season will become 18. More and more games go over seas. Places like Saudi Arabia will host an NFL game and 1000s will die make a stadium.

Its all bullshit
