OK finally home and here are my thoughts on a bunch-a-shit in random order.
- My buddy and I flew into Chicago and drove down to Indy because that was definitely a much cheaper and pretty painless option to flying into Indy and staying there. I was very surprised how many other both Pats and Giants fans did the same thing. We partied damn near everywhere in downtown Chicago Friday and Saturday night and there were people all over the place with their gear on. Everyone was crazy classy. Awesome shit and it made just talking to random strangers even easier.
- We ended up getting the tickets on Stub Hub afterall. They started at $2500+ for the cheapest tickets but ended up falling down to ~$1400 the night before the game. We got ours for $1500. Picking them up was easy as hell, and they had a party with food and drinks. Doesn't make their 10% purchase fee feel any better, but it was a nice gesture on their part and gave us a spot to chill most of the day.
- Fuck people trying to price gouge. We parked a mile out and walked in. Saw signs for $50 through $100 parking.
- The Super Bowl Village itself was awesome. Saw celebs walking around (Larry Fitzgerald, Paul Mooney), huge but well managed crowds, lots of attractions, lots of decorations... here:

It was a great time and from my point of view the city of Indianapolis did a terrific job handling it.
- Lucas Oil Stadium is likely the best stadium I've been to, which is saying a lot from me. The only thing that sucks is that yeah there are some obstructed views, but definitely not worse than Yankee Stadium. Getting in was a little ridiculous though, so many winding lines and going around shit, but I guess it's necessary for such a large crowd. BTW, Kenny Phillips' sister is thick as fuck and Justin Tuck's son is cute as a button. The Phillips family and Tuck's girl were directly ahead of me as we entered.
- View from my seat. Yes, high up, but we wanted a sideline view and it was cheapest/best available:

On the game itself (going off of memory, still haven't seen the broadcast):
- The crowd was like 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 Giants fans. It was ridiculous. I think the section we were in was designated for Pats season tickets tho as we were vastly outnumbered. The stadium acoustics are very good as the cheering was damn near deafening at points.
- When the Pats were on O I keyed most of the game on the receiver/tight end routes. Most every play had a pick, rub, screen, whatever you want to call it at either medium or shallow depths (as was expected). The Danny Woodhead TD in the second was a perfect example. He came across right to left and Boley (I think) was picked. Same with the long Welker gain in the first. That's been the design of the Pats O for the last few years, but it's a pain in the ass as a fan of an opposing team. It's no surprise that (by my count) there was only one completed pass that wasn't on a crossing pattern or in the middle of the field.
- Seemed to me that the defensive ends did a lot less stunting as a whole to try and stop the crossing patterns. Almost as if they were told, if you can't beat your man just sit in your lane and wait for Brady to try and throw over you. Both JPP PDs had that kind of flavor, I also think that both of Tuck's sacks came from the inside position. It wasn't until near the end of the game that Fewell let it rip with the DL IMO. I'll watch again to verify.
- After that first drive, the protection on Eli was much improved. Something I hadn't seen much of the year from Gilbride was 3 WRs and 2 RBs. He ended up doing that a lot in the second half with combos of Hyno/Bradshaw, Hyno/Jacobs and Jacobs/Bradshaw. I swear I saw on the final drive Bradshaw staying in as protection and Jacobs going out on routes and chipping the fuck outta dudes or submarining blitzers. That was an awesome and versatile package.
- This was likely Kareem McKenzie's last game as a Giant. Was talking to a Pats fan before the game on how much he has regressed in pass pro, sure enough Ninkovich eats him for lunch most of the game. He needed help all day by way of chips or the TE staying in on his side.
- I'd never really seen this from the Pats D (tho I don't watch them that much) but they sat in a Tampa 2 most of the game to limit any big plays. The safeties were very tight to the sidelines, Eli kept trying the corner posts but the Pat safeties were always on top of it, AND the Giants couldn't draw them in because of the coverage in the middle. Well played BB.
- I don't know what happened in the fourth with Brady, but as ya'll saw, he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn for whatever reason. Mid and deep ACC was shot.
- You could hear a pin drop on that last hail mary attempt. No one could see wtf happened until the ref signaled. What a fucking heart attack.
Overall, DEFINITELY worth the money. What an awesome trip!
