Vontae Davis close to deal per Florio, but not w/ Colts. Hoping he comes to the Bay to play with his brother. Don't want to have to address safety and corner in the draft and Vontae strikes me as one of the better FA CB's available (although to be honest I'm not sure who all is besides Verner, Tarrelle Brown, and Carlos Rogers).

He has a history of inconsistent effort and losing focus. I'd be terrified to pay him big money

Seeing Jared Allen is likely going to the Broncos. The end of the commemorative plate era

Cutting Steve Smith would save the Panthers exactly $2M in cap room in 2014.

I would say financially its not worth losing the team's (at the moment) number two playmaker. But I get the sense that this move would be bigger than the money.

This is Gettleman making his mark, establishing that this is his team. The Hurney regime would be giving 89 a loyalty bonus, not cutting him.

Hmm I may check this out. I've only seen highlights from the Pats dynasty.

Was NFL-GAF around then?

Also random question, for you guys who were around think back to the year I made a huge mistake and picked the Browns. Was there a vocal contingent of Browns-GAF back then or was it just Wes?

I hope that isn't a True Detective spoiler. I still need to watch the entire first season.

Taking out of context it's not.

This is currently being discussed in the NHL thread actually, and in my opinion, it IS a spoiler, you see a scene from the series with characters in a situation, and you start to wonder how they get there, ergo spoiling your viewing session. So yes, in my opinion, things like that shouldn't be posted outside of a TD thread.

The way I see it

1.
He has no idea what's going on nor when that gif takes place
2.
by the time this happens, he already knows what happened to rust so it doesn't really matter

But maybe we should be careful I guess.

Don't assume everyone has watched TD yet. I haven't. I'd be pretty peeved if spoilers were posted outside of a TD-related thread so I imagine others would be too.

Those GIFs seem pretty innocuous in the grand scheme of things as I can't draw many conclusions from them so I personally don't have a problem there. Not to say others wouldn't.

Think most people are savvy enough to know what is going over the line of spoilering and what isn't.

Lol, we need to get a list of those that plan on seeing it in the near future and assign a time window...I'm a peacock, you gotta let me fly!

To be pedantic, the tuck rule was a divisional game, not championship.

Valid points, but I still think it's a really grey area that's best avoided to begin with. There's a TD thread, there are plenty of other crying gifs to use.

edit: What Wes said.

I don't think GAF existed in its current iteration back then. That was pre-NEOGAF.

The crying gif is kind of a big spoiler. The other ones not so much.
