Good lord if true.

If he's connected to the murder, I can't even begin to imagine what would possess him to get mixed up in that. I mean you're a super talented young guy with piles of cash. Why on earth would you have someone whacked? Self defense is probably the only exception, but some of the weird stuff that Hernandez did (like destroying his home security system and phone) makes me think that wasn't the case here.

Didn't Hernandez have a shady past to begin with? I remember reading he was something of a trouble maker in college.

He came into the league with questions about his character, worked hard to get his pay day, and relaxed into complacency and reverted to his pre-draft ways.

He was a trouble maker in college. Now add money and bad influences to the mix.

TeBROw is an athlete Ballard I worry. Billichick will make a move to get someone

I guess there is still a few out there, Dallas Clark is a walking injury at this point. Randy McMichael could be interesting if he could get back to form, but..... who knows....

Money doesn't change people.
That's true. Just a shame. A real waste of talent and opportunity.

And to take someone out seems so extreme to me (if he ends up being guilty). Must have been some serious shit going down between these two guys. Or Hernandez simply ain't right in the head.

Dallas Clark could fit right in!

in arraignment now.

rumors are 1 major charge, likely 2nd degree murder and 5 seperate charges, including the obstruction of justice..... details should be out soon...

My prediction:

Lesser charges are dropped. He serves 3 years, thanks God, and signs back with an NFL team in 4 years.

Man, The Comrads were right. You can take the boy out the hood but you can't take the hood out the homeboy.

The Dog in question

That's Big Boi from Outkast's pitbull...

Ray Lewis didn't actually serve time in prison did he? This is pretty fucking serious. I doubt any nfl teams pick him up.

Even when he gets out of jail, he will have a long suspension before he would even be able to play. Lets just say iit now, his NFL career is done...

Mike Vick and Plaxico Burress actually showed that DAs go after pro athletes hard. Both of them got basically the max sentence IIRC.

NFL teams want to win and obviously will take anyone who can help them win, but high profile cases like these can make a DA's career, so to think the justice system is going to take it easy on him is mistaken.

The money to hire a top notch legal team won't hurt of course, but he won't get special treatment from the DA or judge.

Sigh... sucks to have a Pats TE who isn't a good human being. If he really is connected to this murder (looks like he is) I hope he's out of the league. I don't want no Ray Lewis wannabee on the Pats.

We really need a new TE now that Welker is gone and Gronk is always hurt. And no don't even mention tbow.

edit: wow, at least they charged him fast

SMH. Hernandez was a stud for my Gators. Sad to see him throw away a promising career like that, but he sounds guilty as hell from all the info so far. PEACE.

Florida alum here. Loved Chico, although I won't say "I can't believe" this has happened. His moral compass has been questionable since before college.

He is an incredible athlete but he deserves all the punishment he gets.
