His ability to slip away from pursuit? The only QB sacked more than Vick this year has been Kurt Warner. He gets sacked *because* he runs around so much.
But there is no doubt that he can get away from sacks... which is my point. And aside from that, the Giant's o-line was outright beating the Falcon's d-line for most of that game, that is an undeniable fact.
Giants lose, didn't really expect a win, but that was a tough one. The roughing the passer at the end of the game beat us in a close game. The falcons did not run away with it.
Kudos to the patchwork defense which is still holding strong with it's two biggest playmakers and four other injuries. I hope that quiets down the nay sayers of the Giant defense.
We beat ourselves. The drops in the first half were ridiculous, as were some in the second half. Manning, though he threw 2 ints, looked great. Barber was injured on two separate plays in the game, hopefully he is okay, we need him back there. Hilliard, Toomer... though I had said before that they are surehanded receivers, and they really are, they dropped the ball (No pun intended) this week, along with Shockey... Hopefully they can bounce back.
In all, I blame this loss on:
#1 - Play calling - Yeah Manning is our new guy, but We still have MVP calibre talent with Tiki... 37 pass attempts versus 21 carries for Tiki... for 107 yards. That's not Giant football.
#2 - Penalties - No need for explanation
#3 - Drops - 7 out of Eli's first 20 passes were dropped.
#4 - Absent Vick containment in the first quarter - He had over 50 yards on the first drive alone. Relatively controlled in the rest of the game.
Though it's a loss, it is an encouraging lose. The defense held against such a potent offense, and Eli played with guts. Next week, a rivalry game, should be fun.
What's funny is that if GB loses today, we're still tied for a wildcard spot. NFC is pathetic haha.
