NFS:U 2 - I actually liked it!

I never liked NFS before.. I'm more into realistic racing sims like GPL, GP4, F1CC.. But I gave the demo a chance and.. it's damn fun. (I hear) even the tuning bit isn't as dumb as the first. I like it.. I think I'll buy it.

But, the question is, should I buy it for the PC or XBOX? Is there much difference between the two versions? I can run the PC Demo at very high resolutions (1280x960) at Max Quality (4xAA 8xAF High Quality Textures..)

From what I hear, the pc version is the best.
I think i'll check this game out as well, kinda liked the first.

If you can run it, I'm pretty sure the PC version will look much better. I'd base it on whether you want to play it on the xbox pad, or whatever you have hooked up to your PC. It is 10 dollars cheaper on PC as well. Buy it and enjoy the best racing game I've played all year :D

Xbox version is the best, the pc version have better graphics, but i have readed some complains in EA forum about some bugs and about cheaters online in the PC version.
And theres the most important thing, the gameplay, without the triggers u cant do perfect starts in Drag Races. Playing racers in a PC is like plaing FPS in a console, it works but its not the same thing.

No contest. PC version by far.

Playing racers in a PC is like plaing FPS in a console, it works but its not the same thing.

No as you can use controllers on pc too and the game have MUCH better graphics. Best of all worlds including online updates the other versions dont get.

There are controllers for the PC that have triggers. Heck, you can use an Xbox or PS2 controller if you wanted to.

I know we can use the console controllers in the PC, but when i answered im suposing he dont have any PC controller with triggers or an adapter to use a console controller in the PC.
Anyway thers still the problem of the online ruined with cheaters.

PCs are only good for 2 things... FPS's and Pr0n. :D

My brother is playing the game with a DS1.

You also have the choice of using a steering wheel, which automatically puts it ahead.

I really like it too. My biggest complaint in the first one was the framerate. So far, they seemed to have really rectified the severe dips the first one always took. I haven't played it online yet, but the SP looks to be very long. I think I read in EGM where its upwards of 50 hours.

Maybe I should ask here: I liked the first one even though I played it for three seconds. Which is better? I just recall being more impressed with screenshots for the first one for some reasons. Are there blurr effects in the second game? I hate to be a graphic whore, but that was a major draw for the first title.

While the shaders are obviously much more optimized and stationary FPS is much higher despite the higher polygon count, situations where physics and lots of particles come into play (tyre smoke, water splash, spins, etc.) the game can really take an FPS dip.

Of course, I'm really pushing my poor 9800PRO by tunning at 1280x960@4xAA/8xAF but I'm so used to playing at these settings that I can't imagine turning down the IQ.. No, I'm not shelling out $$$ for a $500 graphics card either :P I can live with the FPS as it is.

Also, the sound effects are killer; by far the most realistic and accurate engine and exhaust sounds I've ever heard in a game. It's not even close.
