EA Sports has sent over a document detailing all the player rating changes made in the latest roster update for NHL 08. Continue on to view the details of what players had their ratings go up and which went down.

An update has also been applied that increases the capacity of Online Team Play. An additional three slots have been added on each side bringing it to six on six. That exceeds the total of 10 users involved through OTP currently found in NBA Live 08 and FIFA 08. Now every player on the ice can be controlled invididually. Having all players user controlled has worked very well in NBA Live and should here as well. Unexpected yet fantastic news there.

You have to skate to bench. It's really not that bad changing lines, but I can't imagine playing goalie.

Almost all of my hockey "knowledge" is derived from A. being a stats whore via NHL games B. watching too much Sportscenter and C. The Alex Ovechkin Super Weekend on NHL Network a couple weeks ago -- though the Datsyuk's 10 best goals episode was better than the Ovechkin ep.

It still freezes lke a mofo in online lobbies, disconnects you when downloading the new rosters and locks the entire system up upon startup if the roster file exists on your PS3.

I can confirm this as my buddy and I spent a few hours playing on Friday night. Must have had to reboot each of our PS3's hlaf a dozen times each over the course of a few hours.

In 45 minutes, my friend and I just got ONE shootout in. ONE.

Game is basically unplayable if you want to actually see who your opponent is.

You might get lucky and get into a game, and if you do, it's all good. But actually entering a game via the lobby without one of the two participants' systems freezing is like winning the lottery.

It's been like this since the very first roster update in November, just seems like more people are taking notice now because they haven't been playing the game the past 3 months.

I'm not sure what's worse... EA for letting this thing be like this for so damn long, or us for continuing to try and struggle through the crap to actually keep playing it.

I didn't have any problems prior to this patch, now I get freezing during the lobbies or very long waits and frequent disconnects from the EA servers.

Based on the EA NHL 08 forums, this latest patch made things a lot worse.

I'm kind of glad more people are saying they are experiencing it now... maybe EA will finally fix it.

If you can avoid doing a roster update, do so. The game is fine unless you download a roster file.

Has anyone been able to find out anything from EA about all these server disconnects and freezing problems associated with these roster updates? Every time I finished playing an offline game last night, it would freeze up for about a minute and then give me a message about losing connection with EA's servers. Online (for PS3) after I downloaded the latest roster update is totally FUBAR. WTF EA?!
