NHL Playoffs 2017 [OT] 100 Years of Playoff Salt

Have the Caps never heard of "drive the net"? They haven't had any net front presence... most of their rushes are content from the perimeter.

More chance of getting injured and if they get injured they won't be able to represent russia their country at the world cup

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Pittsburgh scores on their next shot... possibly preceded by a lot of Cap shots and pressure.

Lol it's true. Reminded me of Hank years ago when he was scared when the refs called that one goal.

----

What was Crosby yelling about? I'm not watching an English broadcast.

I watched the period without sound, but seems like he was complaining about a player closing his glove on the puck earlier in the sequence or something along those lines. Anyone have a better reading?

Yup, caught the puck then turned, skated, and then dropped it again. Pretty egregious.

I'm really confused as to what the "bar" is for penalties... because if that leg sweep on Holtby wasn't, was that really worse on Crosby?

Holy shit, Holtby didn't even move after it went in. He still has no clue where it is.

It's adorable you ignore all the other penalties that they've let them play through no matter how blatant but sure.

It's been a while since we've used this gif.

I didn't pay attention to the first period but this one doesn't feel like a playoff game at all.

Literally what I asked...

It's always like that regardless of the team though. That's why I hate when they "let them play" because all it does is allow blatant stuff to slip through and then there's always some penalty that would be borderline even in a tightly called game and a team gets a powerplay. There's never any rhyme or reason and all it does is remove any skill since people can hook and trip as they please to stop goals.

Yeah, I'm on the anti "let them play" side. To me, it's just rewarding the team that can commit the most penalties. I definitely agree with you.

How the heck is it not a penalty to outright hold and keep shoving the opposing player into your own net, two feet from the ref's face? Is that actually legal?

Some choice Caps fan quotes from the official NHL board:

"We suck. Last season for me. Can't do this any more."

"Another power play to blow. And, here we go!"

"Why won't our boys shoot the bloody puck?"

"It sounds like a library in there because everyone knows its over. The caps have zero heart. I hope the entire team is traded and Torts is fired. I am ******* SICK of this ****."

Everyone keeps looking at Ovechkin ( a winger)... but where's Backstrom? Where's the net front presence? No one's driving the net... but let's blame the winger, not the center man who drives the play.
