Whatever, Jim's a good writer and his persona doesn't make his opinions less appropriate. Either way, this review was glowing for the most part.Your first mistake was reading a Jim Sterling review and assuming it provided anything of value.
Did my first bounty and did some quests for merit stamps. Please tell me though when you buy a reward it doesn't consume stamps? If they do that will take lots of time trying to get everything.
Yea it's unfortunate, I feel like it puts a lot of the blame on the sales staff when a customers experience is unsatisfactory.
Any GAF impressions of Ni No Kuni yet?

Don't know if this has been talked about yet, but I got this in an email from Prima:
It's the last bit that worries me. Can I really not use Hurly with my PAL game? I bought the guide for Hurly from a UK based shop too (Book Depositary UK).
:-(
Almost 4 hours in. This might be my top jRPG this gen, well, its pretty close to this and Xenoblade. I'm still messing around the first town. Did my first bounty and did some quests for merit stamps. The music is amazing, the graphics are amazing. I just love Level-5 and their jRPG's.
Ordered the Prima guide through Amazon two seconds ago.
The stock won't be refilled until January 28th and I should have it by the 31st. Not too bad. By that point it'll probably be excellent timing.
I'm having a hard time deciding between Japanese or English voices. I usually go with the original voices, in this case Japanese, which I understand a little. However, the English dub sounds good to me.
Which language are you guys going with?

Gonna have to go with the English. I've heard so much about Drippy's Welsh accent that I can't miss out.
The US Amazon site? They keep changing the date... Said 1-2 months at one point today, then the 27, and now the 28. Who knows when it'll come!
Also, DLC codes are region-locked, apparently.
So, when (in terms of hours from now if possible) is this expected to be up on the US PSN?
Pretty much this. I usually always...always watch/play/etc. my material in its native language, but from what I've seen the English dub is really well-done. Supposedly the Japanese dub isn't as high-quality as it should be, and playing Ni no Kuni in English will bring back a lot of fond memories of Dragon Quest VIII. >
Whenever Grace Chen feels like pushing the button. So, when (in terms of hours from now if possible) is this expected to be up on the US PSN?

I wonder if the allegedly low quality of the original Japanese dub can be detected by non-Japanese speakers.
And whose fault would it be, if not the associate helping the customer?
I'm only like an hour in, but Drippy is like one of the best side characters this gen, holy shit. lol.

Argh one of my favourite streams is on tonight...might get an hour of this in. Watch the stream for 3 hours then back on this!
I guess it has to be an extreme case, or screwing up the wordless stuff like yelling or crying. Still, knowing it's supposed to be a bad performance fully pushed me over, it doesn't really seem like a setting where Japanese makes sense anyway.Unlikely. Most games that have had crappy Japanese VA (and dual audio) have gone fairly undetected by non-speakers in my experience.
Playing this game gives me a VERY good feelings.... oh wow what a joy ;_;

Picked the game up right at 10am opening this morning, installed it, but haven't gotten myself to play it yet (even though I've been obsessing over it 24/7). Got caught up with DVR and fuckin around on the web.
For those that got it at Gamestop, the only pre-order bonus was the steelcase, right? There were no DLC codes on the receipt or anything, correct? Cause I literally tossed it out within seconds, lol.
You're getting the PAL version too?
Nope, just the case.
