Nier 2 announced (Square Enix, Yoko Taro, Platinum Games, Akihiko Yoshida, PS4)

In reaction to this news (and the fact that Nier seems to be a special game with amaaaazing soundtrack), I just bought a PAL PS3 version for € 20. :) Hope GAF hype doesnt let me down.

(Seems to be a rare game here, probably everywhere?)

Looking forward to seeing what this new entry will be like.

This is helpful, thanks. I knew she was treated as a freak prior to the shade-joining, but honestly thought it was due to something else.

Can I dare to dream about Platinum getting the Mega Man X IP next yet? Guys?
 
As gloriously HYPE as this announcement is has it been confirmed if Emi Evans is in as well? Cause for as much of an absolutely dream project this is it pretty much needs her as well.

I'm sure she'll be back. She is The voice of Nier's soundtrack.

She sang four tracks for Drakengard 3 (Five in the western release)

I really doubt that is Kaine. She grew up as a person ostracized from society, and lived like that until she met her Grandma, and then later on met the gang. Her entire purpose for wearing a dress like that is nil
 
Honestly this was such a fucking shock that this is easily the most shocking and important news out of E3 for me

FF7 Remake had already leaked before E3, I was pretty sure that TLG was going to show based on what we've been hearing... But this??

Totally blind sighted man.

Put out a crazy limited edition I'll buy that bad boy
 
Random thought: the MC was looking at something that somewhat resembled Emil's head. What if this game is set in an alternate universe where Emil is the one who was turned into a monster and the MC is his sister? Probably not the case, though.
 
I've been meaning to play the first but holy shit this announcement is out of nowhere and is pushing me to play the first sooner than I was planning to.

For real. Couldn't believe how off guard I was with this entire announcement.

The most I was hoping for was Square putting more titles on Steam, which would just include NieR or Drakengard 3.
 
Hot damn, another game I thought we'd never get a sequel to. E3 has been amazing this year, mostly thanks to Japanese developers.
 
Wow, this is pretty amazing. And having Platinum develop means that the action is going to get a serious upgrade. This is really interesting news.

I know, right? A Nier remaster/PC version would already be a dream announcement to me, but a sequel? Absolutely unimaginable, and with such a dream team on top of that!

It was when the one outsider lady comes in and decides to go visit Kaine to see why the village is so mean to her. In the middle of the night the lady wakes up and finds Kaine outside in the bushes with her 'thing' in her hand, as the text describes it all in detail, the lady freaks out and calls her a monster and runs off.
I certainly wasn't expecting that.

- Add me to the people who are happy that this was completely unexpected. It was so refreshing actually being surprised by an announcement, without leaks or rumors prior. Also helps that I would have never ever expected a sequel, and fully expected that Drakengard 3 was the finale of the series.
The joy that this has brought me is immeasurable.

Emil turns into a monster too though
Also he survives at the end of Nier, and we see him reconstructing his body.

I think a story from Grimoire Nier told about Emil making his body like a robot or something?

That art for me seemed like Emil remmants, so a distant future from Nier 1. Although that would be really no humans left

Ah yeah, I remember that now. That one and the young Nier backstory.... Fucking Taro man.

And now I remember another weird as fuck story about Kaine in the Drama CD....
