I was actually pondering the DS (since Im getting one) and what games from the 32/64 bit generation that would work well on it.. and without exception, NiGHTS seems like it was made for a stylus.
For anyone who hasnt played the game, its actually a 2d game set in a 3d world (well, unless you do really badly and stop being NiGHTS and revert back to one of the kids, then its a 3d platformer.. and not a very good one). In any case, it seems rather intuitive that you could simply draw the path on the screen that you want Nights to fly in... draw a strait line and hold the stylus down at the end of the line to get him to go strait.. draw a loop when you want him to do that, etc.
Of course you could play nights with a D-pad (since you could with the original as well).. but it seems to me that this game would work everybit as well as the analog stick on the saturn. There is no question that the system should be able to handle the saturn game perfectly (hell, the textures and draw distance could be cleaned up a bit)..
the only loss would be the audio and FMV which would have to be toned down.. the audio would be a pretty big loss since some of the songs were really awesome. But overall, I think this would be a good move by Sega... especially given the good word of mouth on this game and the fact that next to no one has actually played it.
