Ninja Gaiden 2 for PS3/Rev???

If he's thinking of going multiplatform, Itagaki should pick DOAXV 2. I wonder if that will altered to get past Nintendo's Product Approval. :lol I wouldn't mind seeing that and NG2 on the PS3 either. Make DOAXV2 Adults Only please!

Well, it could go multiplatform, but I doubt we'd see it exclusive to the other consoles. In any case, Ninja Gaiden is pretty much THE action game of this generation for me, so its sequel should be the same. And I doubt it won't make it to the Xbox 360, but I would be very surprised if Nintendo's console had it.

I think it really depends on when Ninja Gaiden 2 will be released. If it's to be released in 2006, then it'll definitely be for the Xbox360. But if Itagaki plans to let it slip to 2007 or longer and spend more time with it, he would definitely be considering the PS3 considering he wants the game to look the best it possibly could (and hey, better sales will NEVER hurt). :D

Look at all the platform hopping Ninja Gaiden made.

By the time Ninja Gaiden 2 is out we'll probably be in the middle of the PS4 lifespan. :(

That's the dumbest shit ever.

Ninja Gaiden IS THE action game on a Microsoft console. It has no competition.

Put it on the PS3 and you get a Devil May Cry 4 versus Ninja Gaiden 2 versus Metal Gear Solid 4 versus God of War 3 versus Resident Evil 5 etc. etc.
Good point, heh.

I seem to recall him making the same comments regarding Ninja Gaiden 1 (prompting the same type of conclusions being reached on this very forum)...and look how that ended up.

He's basically been doing nothing but praise the X360 in recent interviews...I'd seriously be surprised if he jumped ship at this point. he's been nothing but loyal (money helps i'm sure) to MS's platforms currently and has already announced two games in development for x360...three if you count the vaporware that is Code Cronos.

Gaiden sold just like RE:4 did.

So if you call RE:4 sales shit remember that Gaiden's are also shit and vice versa.
Is RE4 around the 800k sold in the US? I think that is quite a bit more than Gaiden.

Funny though. If you put it on the PS3 you get a piece of the pie with the other games and the Sony fanbase and name. Just look at RE4 for confirmation of what I'm talking about. Capcom stands to make a LOT more off RE4 on the PS2 than they made being the "one of a kind" on the GameCube. NG would have made a lot more on the PS2 if you simply calculate the numbers, but TN wanted a more powerful system.

It's a shame too, but that is business. These developers want to make money and get their games out to as many as possible. That is why there just won't be too many exclusives next generation. Power just won't be as much of an issue.

I expect NG2 on teh Xbox 360, although there's a good possibilty that it will show up on other systems and I hope so because everyone needs to play this game. This is one game where I wouldn't mind seeing 6-7 sequels. However that line of his says nothing more other than he's not ready to announce NG2 on the 360. Most likely he just doesn't have authority from Tecmo to make it official. It deffinitely doesn't say, it's NOT coming to the 360.

in the 1up ninja gaiden black interview, itagaki discusses ninja gaiden 2 on 360 as if it's a settled fact. in response to more than one question. so...

Not exactly.

Ninja Gaiden has been out for about a year longer than RE4 and has sold less worldwide. If you want to just compare US numbers they'd be about equal but seeing as how that's the Xbox's strength and that companies look at the worldwide sales it would make sense to look at them as well.

In the US

Ninja Gaiden- 520,000
RE4- 480,000

In Japan

Ninja Gaiden- 55,000
RE4- 145,000

Europe

Ninja Gaiden- ??? (let's just say 200,000 anyway)
RE4- 200,000

So worldwide totals would roughly be

Ninja Gaiden- 775,000 in about a year
RE4- 825,000 in a couple of months

I heard RE4 is already over 1 million worldwide but I think that's just shipped numbers from Capcom. If somebody has Europe number for NG let me know or Europe numbers in general since they are so hard to come by.

I mean I think RE4 has done well on the Cube seeing as how its had an awful 2004 in software and hardware sales plus the console gets a bad rap in that it can't sell "mature" games. Both games DESERVE MUCH MORE IN SALES but neither of them bombed. If they are toying around with putting Ninja Gaiden on more platforms its probably because Xbox has no userbase in Japan (and they expect the same for Xbox 360) so even a Gamecube version would outsell the Xbox version over there.

The tits in DOA/DOAX can only jiggle on one axis relative to the body. That didn't get fixed at all, not in the DOA4 trailer. :lol

Girls in Rumble Roses and even Taki in Soul Calibur II jiggle better.

I'd be suprised if it did come out for the PS3, but if it did, there'd be 100% chance of me buying it, along with DMC4 and MGS4.

whether or not I buy it on the X360 would be dependent on whether or not I buy a X360... but it's looking likely.

Itagaki seems like the guy who will put his games on the console that makes more sense to what he wants to achieve despite where his fanbase is and what makes more sense money wise. Fuck, he moved to the xbox when all his fanbase was on the playstation and Sony was (is) the biggest kid on the block in sales.

With his latest games, he's been trying to achieve visual perfection, so the natural choice was the xbox (he said he would choose the most powerful console and he did with the xbox). So it wouldn't be surprising if he jumped ship to another console if Xbox 360 doesn't meet up to his expectations as to what he wants to do with Ninja Gaiden 2.

If he wants the best absolute visual experience, he's going to go to the PS3. If the Revolution has gyroscopic controls and he wants players to experience sword fighting (who the fuck knows), then he would go to the Revolution.

A good description. I wasn't sure about Itagaki at first, but he is obviously a master game designer...

I truly don't give a damn which console he chooses. He knows what action games are about. His team knows what action games are about. I'll follow him. Then again I'm going to have them all anyway sooner or later so whatever the choice may be, BRING IT.

I kind of dont expect to hear any real info from itagaki untill all 3 systems are out and which ever one is going to allow him to do the most with his game from a visual standpoint that's the system your going to see NG2 on

...and that means that lots of the people who like this kind of game are on board with PS3. Make a great game, captivate those people, ?????, profit.
