For that it'd need to be something big. N64 finally?

April has meant big things for the Wii U's Virtual Console in these past two years...So, hell freaking yeah, GIMME GIMME GIMME

Has there ever been a Direct on Saturday before? Usually they occur on Thursday mornings, but there have been a few exceptions in the past. I think they might surprise us with a Mewtwo announcement and have the update go live on the weekend so everybody has an opportunity to download it. I mean, Club Nintendo is dead on March 31st, so logic dictates that it must happen soon, right? And judging by the lack of Virtual Console games coming to Japan, maybe we'll be getting N64 games sooner than we thought.

Registering...

Publication or Company : NeoGAF :/

I don't understand this secrecy with the PRs.

Sony keeps their press site under guard because they upload assets ahead of time and prior to an embargo lift. It's not just press releases that they are concerned with.

Or, maybe they'll do a secret Nintendo Press Direct. :(

Haha...maybe. The best bet for a new Direct will be next week, I think. Folks can register for Mewtwo until next Tuesday, so hosting a Direct on, say, Thursday would make sense if Mewtwo releases immediately following the broadcast.

Edit: Just explored the "new" press site. Just a layout change and easier site navigation.

Aw, what? You have to register to see the press releases now? Dang, guess we have to rely on L~A to post it for now on.

If I'm not mistaken didn't it used to be guest accounts were only during E3 (usually golin/harris).

I feel like four or five years ago it required a press login, because I know for whatever reason I went and got a press login.

Honestly this last year or so they've been consistently late with the Thursday PRs so I'm not sure this is a huge loss.

Or... you could take 30 seconds and sign up. My account was already approved.
But they require the company you work for & position, & I'm not really the type to lie about that type of stuff.

& again, L~A tends to be on top of posting the PR here in this thread, usually before it's even up on the press site.

Edit: Looks like tomorrow, the Wii U VC title is Namco Museum (GBA). Then next week, Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures finally hits.

Just completed the first chapter of missions on Spy Chameleon 100%. Thanks for recommendation guys! Really gonna enjoy this one in short bursts.

They are going to talk about Mario Party, and you will like it! Wii Mario Party available for download after the presentation.
And here's a few more amiibos that will never hit a shop shelf!

(No direct this week, even though it is my birthday! Refusing to hype now.)

Just a little lopsided there. :[

The list of games that both regions lag Japan in is too long and depressing to post. And it's filled with Square Enix and TG16 games.

I might be tempted to get some of those NES themes if Nintendo offered a bundle. Sega did one where you got 4 for the price of 3.

Garbage week. At least there's a Batman demo.

Maybe I'll get Electronic Super Joy finally... but then I'm afraid it'll go on sale next week. You see what these Steam-style sales do to people, devs?

And eShop titles is totally opposite. Japan obtains few and America a lot.
I think Nintendo searchs a balance.

I use this one, which I think manages to be not too busy. Nice sign at the top for the logos, just a pattern on the bottom.

Unlike the image, I don't leave gaps, which helps too.

This is my theme too, <3 Isabelle. I do leave a gap for the flowers though.

Right, we know Nintendo has a gigantic backlog of finished VC games to dripfeed and we also know internally that Adelman & Co. always viewed VC as directly competitive with indies and so they throttle one to advantage the other.

Until Nintendo really invests in and prioritizes VC it'll never be a major success or a sales driver. They only ever did in the early Wii days and funny enough the service was breaking all their targets then.

I still haven't seen a 3DS theme that didnt come off as too busy.

Agreed. Especially the bottom screen where you have all the game icons and everything already.
That's the main reason I'm still just on the default theme. The other themes are just way too cluttered when actually using them.
