Nintendo Downloads - November 2012

Are the Wii update servers down? I wanted to update to get the DKCs before their gone, but I always get a connection error when I try to update (so I can access the shop).
Tried it several tries today, always the same problem. Internet connection test works fine and I can still access the Nintendo Channel application.

Maybe they're being temporarily pulled to be replaced with Wii U compatible versions which can run natively!
ahahahahahahaha

How inconsiderate, NoE has my love again for giving us one week to think. But I think I won't buy any of them, I'm really afraid of difficult games. :(

DKCs are pretty easy for the most part. Only a couple of hidden levels in 2 and 3 are really difficult. DKCR was in a league all by itself.

I wouldn't buy them simply because if they were removed it seems likely that they might be first in line for Wii U.

Knowing Nintendo, the first game they would put in the WiiU VC would be a Mario game, and I don't think they would put three games of the same series at the same time. Remember the 3DS VC and its lack of WARIO LAND 3!!!! But in defense of your argument, they are pulling the games before the release of the Wii U in each territory. Hmmmm...

One reason I could see for them to remove the DKC games would be if they were going to release a DKC box set with all four games. They released Mario and Kirby box sets without removing them from the VC, though, so perhaps not.

Another possibility is that they're adding them to Wii U VC and removing them from Wii VC in the process, but as said by others it wouldn't make sense to launch the Wii U VC with nothing but DKC games.

If the DKC games are removed from the JP Wii shop right before their WiiU release, then I would believe they are first in line for VC updates.

This whole situation is just really weird. I wonder if Rare has anything to do with it...

Maybe Nintendo have a new feature on Wii U VC where you can buy franchise sets at a discount, and DKC is the first franchise they're showing it off with.

Maybe they'll have a feature where you don't need to rebuy the same stuff you already bought digitally on their last console in order to play it on the new console outside Ultra Ghetto Mode.

Maybe part of whatever royalty agreement Nintendo has with Rare only applies to the Wii and Microsoft is being shitty about negotiating a Wii U deal. And we'll never have them again. Ever, ever, ever.

The DKCs are apparently already gone in NA. Oh well, thanks for saving me 16 bucks NoA!

Gah! And no warning! I only saw the Europe+25th thing so I was just going to wait a bit and grab them when I picked up my WiiU so I didn't have to wait. This really, really sucks.

Glad I bought the whole trilogy a few years ago when I was on a VC platformer binge, even if I don't particularly feel like replaying them any time soon.

Maybe?

Looks like the Wii U version of Little Inferno just shows the same thing on the TV as it does on the WiiPad. Hopefully it has Wiimote support for the pointer. This game doesn't really need two screens.

OK, is it time to start asking for good self-powered external hard drives recommendations? Because I will need one and don't have any idea of which one I should buy. lol

So, from what I saw in the stream

To add to this, it looked like that Activision was the only publisher with no games available for download, both at launch and in the immediate future. Batman isn't available for download, either.

Also, no discounts whatsoever on retail game downloads on the NA store, in stark contrast to almost every digital game on the JP store having a discount. >:(

Not that it matters to me, but that is such BS to those going digital (especially if they are getting a basic set with no DDP)

Did you see Scribblenauts up for download? Would be really weird if WB put one game up but not another.

Scribblenauts was up from what I could tell.

I think I noticed that D3 Publisher wouldn't be making their game available for download, either, which suggests that Namco might not be doing their games, as well (they own D3). I wonder what's up with that, since they're putting TTT2 on the Japanese eShop.

Batman is also up on the JP store too, right? Really odd, especially WB putting up only certain games.

Did you also see ME3 up on the shop?

Yeah, EA had all three games up, from what I could see in the stream. I'm not surprised, since they had all three of those games up right away on the PS3, as well.

Alright, thanks.

It's nice to see strong digital support right out of the gate, even if they may not have every game up.

Lack of Batman and Tekken is really confusing me.

In case someone was wondering, the Wii U transfer tool has Pikmin in the splash screen. I don't think you can do anything with it until you get your Wii U set up, though.

Thanks for the info, guys.

Isn't Sonic Racing $40 MSRP?

Yes! So does this mean Mighty Switch Force HD is day 1??

I think that Sonic Racing is less than 59$, something like 39$ I believe, someone check it out.
I'm not fan of digital retail download, but this list is pretty rad for those who are into it.
