Better yet, sign up to one of the computing powersharing networks and instead of having useless screensavers, donate computing power to worthy causes when you're away or asleep. Restarting your CPU everyday isn't good on the computer.

It's possible some 3rd party games may simply lease Nintendo's services. Actually, it might be a good carrot to get developers to include free on-line features of some kind.
"you program it, we'll host it and provide the infrastructure"
This also opens the door for a pay per play Square Enix MMORPG for the DS. S-E accountants must be real happy right now.

Rivals probably means people with your skill.mutsu said:Oh by the way, in Mario Kart you can choose to play against:
- Friends
- Random people within your country
- Random people around the world
- Rivals
It's interesting how you can choose to play against Rivals... I wonder how that would work.
If it's not secured or something, of course. You can do that with any computer with Wi-Fi.Spencerr said:... I wonder if I'll be able to steal my neighbors internet with it.
Isn't it possible to play World of Warcraft with 56k?Also, I wonder what speeds will be necessary. DS isn't that graphic heavy or anything... think if worst came to worst I could get away with 56k?.

The "Wi-Fi Box" doesn't go into a phone socket. The wireless router (Wi-Fi Box) would connect to a cable or DSL modem.

i buy a usb wifi box that plugs into my pc. i log onto the internet using my service provider, that i pay a monthly subscription to, and i can play my ds online, essentially for free?
please could someone clear this up for me, thanks.
Exactly and from the sounds of it, I wonder if it would work on dialup.

Mama Smurf said:All of this and Nintendo still haven't shown off Zelda, Pokemon or Metroid Dread! This system is insane.
Cheebs said:Based on Rare porting over DKC 1-3 on GBA I wouldn't be suprised if they are working on a Donkey Kong 64 DS port over a new game.
lochnesssnowman said:Nintendo have really really upped their game in the face of the PSP. The games lineup for DS is nothing short of insane. Today has been a huge day for DS / GBA news and as someone mentioned, we've yet to see anything on the new Pokemon / Zelda titles. I've never seen a lineup as strong as the DS in Japan. It's going to be unstoppable this Christmas.
