I've got no clue. It will go down as Nintendo's worst selling GBA title most likely and more or less kills any chance of Climax coming to the US (isnt that the newest one?).

It's because not many people really give a damn about F-Zero. The GC version did moderately well because it had phoenomenal graphics, and because it was something different. The GBA version didn't have great reviews, and it was already the second version of F-Zero on the platform. I guess Nintendo tried to turn it into a larger franchise by giving it the TV cartoon show/Fast-food premium treatment. It just didnt' work out.

Wow. After last year's numbers I thought for sure Super Mario World would have been taken over by Pokémon Ruby by this point, but it still retains a hefty lead. Go SMW!


As for F-Zero, 3D F-Zero > 2D F-Zero > 2nd 2D F-Zero on the same system. Even considering that, though, a sequel getting 6% of the sales of its direct predecessor is... on the low side.

Ruby has an advantage in revenue due to a higher ASP although basically every unit of SMW has sold at 30 since all of the Super Mario Advance titles are still full price.

man, i enjoyed f-zero GP legend. there were some clever ideas in that game. it's a better game than the first GBA one as well. what a shame.

This is true. There really doesn't seem to be a market for futuristic racers anymore, at least in the U.S.

It's harder, faster and more action oriented. But it's also much more linear, some poeple don't like the change in design. Personally, I think it's the best game in the series, makes Metroid feel like something other than a sidescrolling sci-fi Zelda.

Why make a new game that will use more work when ports of games two gens ago will sell just as well?
