Game Freak made Pokemon, but Creatures did a lot of the uh.. creatures themselves.
Anoop did a little write up on IGN about the new game, but couldn't parse the name and didn't have any idea what it was -- it's a puzzle game starring the Chee-Chai Aliens. Chee-Chai Alien was a Gameboy Color game where you "caught" aliens by holding up the GBC infrared port to various forms of light/IR signals (remote controls, etc.). The differing wavelengths "contained" different aliens, so the trick was to find as many light sources as possible to get the whole set.
In reality, it's a sham of the "love-detector" order -- I've collected a huge number of aliens from the same damn TV remote -- but the effect is nice and convincing, and hey, it's fun to believe.
