I prefer a console ban over an account ban.

If my PS5 got banned, I'd have to buy a new PS5.

If my PSN account got banned I'd be out thousands of dollars in software licenses.

Banning console MUCH better than banning account for any consumer with a digital library. Nintendo almost certainly won't ban either one unless the user is a pirate. At the end of the day, don't pirate and you will be fine.

Copying and pasting the link works if you're on desktop whether it's old/new reddit. If you're doing it on mobile, it doesn't work. Just shows the URL address.
Yup, you're correct. The embed works with both old and new reddit, but only on desktop. On mobile, it gives a completely different URL that doesn't embed.

And that's going to happen with Switch 2, just as soon as the emulators become available.
I've been thinking about this for a while, but running 9th gen consoles emulators is gonna be a BIG weak up moment for many people, just think about many of them people not wanting to spend money on hardware, yet these consoles have:

PS5/XS/Switch 2:
  • Fast SSD
  • Modern (after 2020) GPU architecture
  • Raytracing
PS5:
  • Tempest sound engine
  • Hardware level decompression
Switch 2:
  • AI
  • DLSS
  • Neural Texture Compression
  • Other Nvidia tech inside
Most of these people are used to emulate on their cheap phones or GTX cards, not to mention that most games aren't finally trapped into a single platform (with exceptions) and can be played on modern systems, giving many people with actual knowledge for developing emulators less reasons to develop them (in fact, this is how MS made it impossible to hack Xbox One, there's just no motivation with the publicly available dev mode).

Aside from a few games on PS5 (so far), emulation of this gen won't be needed since PC has native versions.

Frankly, I did not like the potential consequences of the mig flash on the second hand market. This is good news as far as I'm concerned.
