I think they would do a direct after the launch. It makes sense to focus on the launch and then a Direct to get more hype.

Well a Direct around the launch or the week after makes sense. But the second or third week of June would make more sense. If you do a Direct with new games the same week of launch, you take attention away from the launch titles, which neither Nintendo nor third-parties want.

The usual mid-June Direct is expected, and makes complete sense particularly this year, once the hardcore early adopters have their Switch 2 and starting wondering what's next.

A focus on games, eh? Dang.

As opposed to what, a focus on how to navigate to the eShop?

The game that explains how to navigate the eshop.

It could have been a DLC for Welcome Tour, but the development team decided it was getting "so big", that they decided to make a sequel instead

Ive never played, but rereleasing Metroid Prime Trilogy with 'Mouse' support (who know what I mean) would be VERY cool.
Knowing Nintendo however, probably it will be more 30 minutes of those chat features... :-D

They won't do it because they already remastered Metroid Prime 1 separately and it was clearly a lot of work. So I imagine they'll do something similar with 2 and 3, if the sales from 1 justified it. Otherwise there's GameCube Classics 🤷‍♂️

I hate to be THAT guy... but if Metroid depends on sales, no version would be released. Metroid was never a smash hit (which is ironic, given the fact a whole game design philosophy is named after it!)

It was kind of expected that there would be some kind of Direct in June/July. We don't really know Nintendo's plans for the rest of the year, I expect to see the big Holiday game announce and the post launch road map for upcoming games.

I've been borrowing my Switch to my sister, but I'll be getting it back a while as I saw that there's about ten games I haven't played on it yet and want to try out. 9 of them I can borrow for free from the library, so my Switch will be getting a great send-off:

1. TotK
2. RDR1
3. Luigi's Mansion 3
4. Mario Wonder
5. Paper Mario: Thousand-year Door
6. Echoes of Wisdom
7. Mario RPG
8. Mario & Luigi: Brothership
9. The Messenger
10. Metroid Prime Remaster

So this will help me stave off any Switch 2 cravings as I wait for the revision. Otherwise threads like this would likely make me falter as Switch 2 is shaping up to become a perfect successor.

We are already waiting on MP4 to come out. So there's no chance right now. They have to get clear of that first.

Then, they can call upon the Prime games to soften the wait for the NEXT Metroid game.

It was not clear from my post sorry... i was thinking about a shadow drop. But them again, Metroid Prime (and metroid in general) was never a smsh hit, so something like that could cause a good noise around it.

Oh...well yeah this has already been observed because they shadowdropped Prime 1 remake. It was a good idea.

But I don't think Nintendo would judge the timing for such a move appropriate with the new game very close. The Prime 1 drop from years ago already accomplished the goal of rekindling interest in Metroid to drum interest for the new game. Only so many dollars will be spent on Metroid titles in a year and they know it; so don't spam them all too close together. They need to drip feed all that stuff while making the next one lol

🚨 EXCLUSIVE ! Several well-placed sources tell me about a Nintendo Direct for the week of June 10th.

As announced by PH Brazil, a Nintendo Direct will take place next month with a focus on upcoming games in the second half of the year.

Nintendo's partners will be in the spotlight.

The filming of the Direct already took place last week.

I'm told that there will be the intervention of someone well placed at Nintendo in this presentation.

It's almost done, more information soon. ⏳

So they'll finally announce Xenoblade saga upgrade patches... I was worried it would take any longer, because they'll announce it, right?.. right?
