And just like Wii, I think that could be a game aimed at a casual crowd or all crowds with casual appeal just like Wii Sports.I'm sure there will be at least one original game launching with it.

Luigis Mansion 3I'm sure there will be at least one original game launching with it.
Super Mario Advance, Super Mario 64 DS, Twilight Princess were all big launch games that were originally games for earlier systems--but Nintendo still had all-new GBA, DS, and Wii games at launch.
I hate to make it sound like this but sometimes I think the people complaining about $250 being a high price are teenagers or college kids with no or little money.Yep, super crazy. I mean, not that the direct comparison is 100% valid, but doesn't the n3DS go for $200 right now? I mean, c'mon...
How well did Tekken do on Wii U? I got it launch day alongside NSMBU, Nintendo Land and Batman Arkham City.
The event is gonna be at 10pm CST on Thursday. Convert that to whatever your time zone is.Ok, just so I'm 100% sure.
It's at 1pm on Friday JPN time, right?
32 GB is useless though, with the actual game size and patches it fills pretty quick, you will still need a big SD, like on Wii U you need a HDD.
$249.99 is a great price for Switch. Also storage won't be a big deal (at least with physical games) due to the fact it probably won't really need big installs with cartridges, correct?
Correct, that's one of the major benefits of using cartridges. Another one would be decreased load times (they'll still be there, just not as bad as it would be with discs).$249.99 is a great price for Switch. And they were all pretty poopy. I dunno about you but I wouldn't give two shits if the Switch launched with something like Kuru Kuru Kururin 2Super Mario Advance, Super Mario 64 DS, Twilight Princess were all big launch games that were originally games for earlier systems--but Nintendo still had all-new GBA, DS, and Wii games at launch.
It won't need any installs with cartridges. Even with disc formats Nintendo has been very good with their proprietary disc and reading speeds. Games that required installs on PS3 and PS4 (like cod games) would run right off the disc on Wii U with no loading issues.$249.99 is a great price for Switch. What if Nintendo mandates devs having to buy a higher spaced cartridge so that there's some empty space on them for smaller patches? Is such a thing even possible while also maintaining tight security? No installs, patches are all you need to worry about.

My gas bill was $140 last month. $250 is chump change compared to all the other things in life. I know people have very different money circumstances but in 2017 when even nosebleed concert tickets cost over $100 a piece, $250 is not too much for a game machine.

Saying $250 is chump change compared to other things like a gas bill is an unfair comparison. There are things which are necessities, and there are things that aren't. In this respect, $250 is not just "chump change". For some it is a huge amount of money to just spend for entertainment--and yes, this is often the case for people with not as much headroom in terms of finances as you may have.
Personally, $250 is not too much for a video game machine. I actually think it is the perfect price for what we seem to be getting so far. And I will buy it. At the same time, it is not "chump change".
a monthly gas bill is once every month, a console is 1 every 4 or so years though.

You just addressed my concern with that, security. Would be great but I have no idea how realistic it is. I mean DS and 3DS cartridges have a rewritable segment for save data right?
I used that as an example and I also compared it to the cost of other entertainment. When you look at how much it cost for other entertainment in this economy, $250 still isn't even that much money.
You are assuming people have money to spend on entertainment regularly. But they are probably not the target audience anyways.
This is getting off-topic.
I'll agree it was a bad example to compare those but it still goes to show just how cheap $250 is compared to other things in this modern economy.
If this stand had a built-in USB-C adaptor or even a pass through I would buy it day one as it would likely also work with my Google phones, but simply as a stand I don't see the point.
Is there something special about the d-pad? Does it also slide?
We would need some real juicy rumors tomorrow for that to happen. You think we can get this topic to 400 pages before we get the official Switch Presentation topic up?
The picture just shows an opening in the plastic that exposes the Switch's USB plugin. So I am assuming there's no actual USB tech in the stand. If this stand had a built-in USB-C adaptor or even a pass through I would buy it day one as it would likely also work with my Google phones, but simply as a stand I don't see the point.

I thought the d-pad was switchable. Like you can replace it with other buttons. If this stand had a built-in USB-C adaptor or even a pass through I would buy it day one as it would likely also work with my Google phones, but simply as a stand I don't see the point.

Holy shit, I didn't even notice it was so high. I don't know how yall can bear talking about this thing so much, it makes the wait so much harder. I'm trying to get myself to log off right now, but the Hori thread has me too hyped, hah.You think we can get this topic to 400 pages before we get the official Switch Presentation topic up?
OB1 just said according to his sources you can add your facebook and twitter friends on your Switch.
Also, no streaming services available at launch as Ninty wants to focus on games.
Ho hum....
Doesn't this line up with what vern heard?OB1 just said according to his sources you can add your facebook and twitter friends on your Switch.

Yeah they do but maybe making that writable space much larger may leave the games vulnerable to mods and back doors into the system using certain software that wouldn't typically fit in just space reserved for saving.

Streaming will be on the system. Just not day 1.
If you wanna believe what OB1 says, it was cause they dont want a situation like Xbox One at reveal where they bored the hell out of everyone talking about apps and whatnot. Just wanna focus on the games right out of the gate.
Take that for what you will.
They're saying it won't be there at launch. Not that the Switch will never get Netflix. It will have to get it and hopefully not very long later.Well guess we already have one of the bullet points for why Switch sucks then if it has no multimedia capabilities.
