Are you underestimating Capcom's ability to be the cheapest bastards around?
I mean since the team has been working on the first one until quite recently, I'm not sure they really had the time to create a full-blown sequel in less than 2 years. Particularly since they probably didn't greenlight a sequel right away as the success of the first one was still uncertain.

Let me post again why I believe the SFII leak is real.
It does make sense in its own way.
- Capcom wants to release a Street Fighter on this thing, it makes a lot of sense since two controllers are included
- They can't release SF5, that's Sony exclusive on consoles
- They can't release SF4, they want you to forget that game and focus on 5
- SF2 is the next best thing and also embodies this retro renaissance we're seeing right now and especially after the NES mini
It's so out there I want it to be real. But playing SF2 with an analog stick. 😷

Laura Kate Dale said the leak was wrong. She said Odyssey is the name of BGE2 and dismissed the rest.
But she also said Splatoon is not a sequel, Zelda will miss launch, Mario is launch, etc..
Furthermore she said she knows more but won't tell. This surely would mean she could confirm it in a second if she thought its true and her 'more' is on the list.
We'll see.

It's also Street Fighter's 20th Anniversary. Capcom loves their Anniversary games.

But why not Street Fighter One though? I know it's not well known, but Capcom could just reuse all the Alpha sprites. Just remake everything.
I predict that if MHXX is getting a Switch port, it'll be a launch window (within 3-4 months) out here in the West.

I'm really struggling with how a spoiler free thread would be, since the first page of GAF will be all the spoilers you need.
If people don't want spoilers, bookmark the link to the conference and watch it before coming to GAF or going to Twitter, or Facebook.

Honestly I would have preferred them to just wait until Monster Hunter 5.
But then, it is suspect how XX apparently releases right next to the Switch in Japan.

The way I'm used to it working is I bookmark the spoiler free thread, go to that when I'm first on my computer, and in it there would be a link to the now pre-recorded event.
I wasn't aware in this case the YT link was already available, so I'll just do that instead and try to avoid looking at the related videos
