Not a fan of the Dynasty Warriors games but I really am enjoying the first Hyrule Warriors (found a new physical copy on Amazon). I grabbed Age of Calamity for $30 in the BB sale and will play that after the original.
I wasn't a musou fan either but I played Fire Emblem Warriors in 2018 and thought that was alright. Last year I did Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition and Persona 5 Strikers and liked those a lot. Just beat Samurai Warriors 5, now I'm playing Age of Calamity. I think the musou genre has gotten better

Was wondering why my download speeds to my Switch OLED were so fucking slow when I have gigabit internet. I look at the settings, MTU is defaulted to 1400 (why?!). Changed it to 1500, went from an estimated 45 minutes to download the full Triangle Strategy to 14 minutes.

Edit: After the very long, very talkative prologue, Triangle Strategy is so, so good ! Loving this. This is filling the void left by a lack of Final Fantasy Tactics sequel quite well. I'm loving the upgrade system, the characters, the novel additions to combat they've made, everything. This is suddenly rivaling Elden Ring as my GotY.

Got mine this past Xmas, with Metroid and FE, and I'm still waiting to play on the damned thing. Supposedly, it was my gift from my wife, but she's always playing AC on it. Eh, wtf ever.
You need BoTW,

Then get Luigi’s Mansion 3, Mario kart 8, Mario odyssey. MUA3

Fast RMX, hades, the Touryst. Hyper charged. to name a few. There are lots more but these are a great start

Oh and Cruis’n blast.

Playing through Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair on my OLED Switch.

Got 8 bees so far.

I tried to play this on Xbox Game Pass and despite enjoying it I dropped it after a couple of worlds.

This time though I’ve stuck with it and it’s a brilliant game. The soundtrack is out of this world and the oversold is fantastically designed (more in line with Rare’s best over world, Grunty’s Lair). The changing world scapes is truly fantastic game design.

Recently downloaded Civ 6 but not played yet. Big one on my agenda is MH Rise which I still haven’t started for whatever reason.

OMG the lineup of Sega Genesis games for the Nintendo Online expansion pass is nuts. Shining Force, Phantasy Star IV, Sonic 2, fucking Strider, and more. So worth it for this and the extra Kart tracks. Too bad I no longer play Animal Crossing, but I'll see what goodies my girl gets for her town or whatever it is.

Sexy Hugh Jackman GIF

It’s not the most in depth combat wise. But story it’s like a Saturday morning cartoon crossed with the MCU. Plus xmen. There is DLC available as well. I have not purchased this.

Tbf you could play some of these already in other collections (Mega Drvie classics for example)
plus Sonic 2 is getting yet another rerealease alongside 1, CD and 3-K.
Maybe one or two games like Strider...

Someone on here recommended me Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity. I highly recommend you play that later (it's a prequel to BotW)
Thank you for the recommendation! Downloading now with all the DLC and stuff.
Why oh why do I keep buying new games for my XSX & PS5 when all I do is play my new Switch.

Oh! Real quick is the Skyward Sword remake worth it?

Hey everyone!

I'm considering to change my main account region from US to Japan. It has NSO family plan (I join my friend's family plan) and some small change in the wallet. ($0.07). The reason is that I want to be able to buy the voucher ticket. I already have Japanese account on other profile but it doesn't have NSO. My questions are if I'm changing region are:
  • Are my save files safe?
  • What about the digital games that I bought that are not available/different SKU from the Japanese eshop?
  • What other things should I take notes of?

I'm playing through the new Kirby in handheld mode now on my new-ish OLED, and man are these speakers underwhelming. So muted and tinny - sounds horrible. Does anyone else's OLED have this same issue? I am starting to wonder if there's a problem with my Switch.

No issues with the sound quality from my switch, but then again sound quality is subjective

Today I got a Nintendo Switch and I have some questions:

1 - Is it normal for the eshop to be so slow/sluggish?
2 - Does Nintendo send emails when the games on your wishlist are on sale? If not, what day of the week they change the games on sale?

1 - yeah the eshop is pretty slow for me. It’s working at a fraction of my wifi / mobile data speed.
2 - I don’t have any game in my wishlist so I don’t know, maybe I should try. I do check the sales occasionally and I’m subscribed to a couple YouTube channels, like SwitchWatch, that regularly post videos about the latest sales.

The eShop moves fine for me, and I do get regular emails regarding updates for sales on games on my wishlist.

Weird, it honestly reminds me of how sluggish navigating the eshop was on the 3DS.

For Euro gaf, if I get a game code for a game from another country, will I have any issue? And language wise, can I still select english?

Not European but I use a French account, I think games from other countries, like USA, are set to their language by default. As far as I know only European games have multiple languages like French and Spanish, and even then you can change the language to English either from the game options if that option is included, or by changing the Switch's own system language to English.

Cool, thanks. Found a cheap Valkyria Chronicles 4 but in German. (which, now that I think about it, hope there's no form of censorship)

Not sure if you still want to know, but the motion controls can be a bit irritating and in handheld mode the sword is tied to the right stick, which means you lose camera control.
Other than that it's ok though, if you like Zelda games but haven't played SS it's probably worth getting.
Personally I enjoyed it, but I can recognise that it's not the best in the series.

Amazon UK are doing £20 off on orders over £299 so you can now get a Switch OLED for £284.99.

Just incase anyone is thinking about getting one...

I wouldn't mind giving Smash bros a try but I don't want to pay $60 for a game so old that doesn't also include the complete roster. Do you think there's any chance of getting the game digitally on sale any time between now and black friday?

edit: ended up just buying it on the eshop

It's possible anytime, but as far as I know, first-party megahit games like Zelda, Smash, or Pokémon never go below $40 when they're on a sale.

My wife bought me a Switch and giving it to me next week for my birthday. I bought hers in 2019 for our anniversary. She already has: BOTW, Smash Ultimate, Hyrule Warriors and a few others.

Any recommendations for games other than those? I'm looking for a long list with action/adventure, JRPGs, puzzle and any indie games that might be decent.

There are a few I need to be sold on that I'll admit I haven't played...the Bayonetta series and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I hear so much about them but trailers don't show much. I'd like someone to sell me on those.

The others sound interesting as well. I've heard mixed reviews on Dragon Quest XI. I'd be willing to take the risk as I've been playing Dragon Quest since the first game was released decades ago.

Quick question please: Was trying to upload pics taken in ACNH yesterday by using my phone to scan the QR code, but it gave me a network error. How do I get past this. I'm online using my home wifi network. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

once you scan the QR code what is meant to happen is the Switch switches your wifi over to a wifi hotspot the Switch created. If you don't connect automatically then go into your wifi settings and see if there is a wifi called something like "switch_4155A1123" and try connect to it. once you are connected to it then you should get a second QR code to scan and you'll be taken to a webpage where you can download your pictures.

it's a bloody mess the way Nintendo have implemented it.

here are some pages showing how to do it:

Thanks for sharing these guides! I knew how to transfer screenshots from the Switch to my iPhone but not to PC.

Whoa! NOW THAT'S A LIST! Many thanks! I'm going to have to save that. Some of these titles I was not even aware were on Switch. Nearly went for Persona 5 Strikers but I need to be sold on that. Tell me about the gameplay and I'm not one of those who complains that "Persona has too much text." I'd prefer that between the action. Tell me more about it.
