Nintendo Switch |OT| Switch It Up

While I am psyched as hell for Switch 2, Metroid Prime 4 still sits right at the top of my most anticipated games, so my ageing OG Switch has some life left in it yet.

Currently playing through Turbo Overkill on it; great game, great port.

Honestly by this stage Switch is probably my #2 console of all time, behind only the venerable SNES.

I give it to Switch, toppling the Dreamcast.

I really hope Switch 2 does some things with loading times. Like going thru DQM: Dark Prince, the load times are ridiculous. Every single thing has a loading screen.

What I hope Switch 2 improves on is how sluggish the UI is when using the internet. Every time I enter the eShop I have to wait a lot of time for it to load and then wait for simple images and text to show up. I don't know how this is considered acceptable in the current era.

Yeah, I really don't understand why this is either. It doesn't feel much of a step up from the awful Wii latency.

For me Switch is a close second to the PS2 for me

Did my pre order of Switch 2 ,

Man Mario kart it will be insane with friends 🤣 🤣

Also is there anything that o might have missed that show that is worthy to keep the old model around??

I'll stick with my Switch Lite for the coming years. Still a lot of games I haven't played yet. Nothing in the Direct was a system seller for me. It'll be frustrating when the future Monolithsoft games eventually come out, though. But Nintendo's new pricing strategy is a big no-no for me.

Outside of the NS1 games that are not compatible or have "compatibility issues that may effect gameplay) I don't think so. The S2 should play all the other games (there are I think 148 listed as having some sort of issue) with no issues.

I never really paid attention to NSO since I don't play online games (well this might change once I start playing XBCX), but... do you really get access to all those classics, for as long as you want, for just 40€ a year? Sure, it's only oldies, but this still sounds like pretty good value, I might bite once I get my Switch 2 and they add the NGC games to it...

Yes, with NSO you get NES, SNES and GameBoy games.

And with the Expansion Pack you also get :
- GameBoy Advance
- N64
- SEGA Genesis
- some games' DLCs (Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2)
- Switch 2 upgrades for both Zelda games

(I didn't know the price was 10€ lower in Europe for the yearly subscription)

Loving the game sharing.
(You aren't sharing anything rather it blocks you using the game on your switch and allows the borrower a 2 week temporary download of the game on their system)

I am going to add two more family members and we can all share our games seeing as we all have a few different game games this is great don't have to fork out for a game just complete it during that time and sorted.

I am happy that the Switch 2 is looking to be a pretty linear upgrade - ala the other consoles. I do enjoy how Nintendo tends to innovate each gen, but it feels nice to have everything the same basically, just more power.
