(Bonus points, though, to the dude who said you should hang out staring at kids' pockets to see if they have a DS in them. That's just like the nastiest frosting on this shitcake of a thread. You win, man! You win!)
Thanks, I try. Occasionally.
The point *is* that you're all lookin' for SOMETHING to justify the DS' design and your advocacy of it, and the fact that Nintendo is making the game lends you a little blind faith.
If anyone was doing that, I don't think they'd need to use Nintendogs. Yoshi and Kirby would be much better examples.
Of course, it's much harder to argue your point if you don't ignore these games, so I see where you're coming from.
In the end, it's a fuckin' non-game with ugly low-poly pups and very little in the way of depth to sell it to anyone with more than a thimble's worth of actively firing neurons. On the other hand, I'm sure it'll sell pretty well -- after all, the dipshit demographic hasn't been adequately satisfied since Animal Crossing.
I hate to say it, but: it's not for you (cue PA comic). If you don't consider it a game then fine, but people still enjoy these things. People like needlework and I don't have a fucking clue why, but I don't say they're stupid for liking it.
So yes, it's coming to the DS. Yes, it's going to be labeled as a game. But if you don't think it doesn't fall under the criteria of a game, that doesn't mean people won't enjoy it.
I just can't see what your problem is with it. As far as I can tell, the only way it could affect you is if it was taking resources away from other Nintendo games. But Zelda's still coming. Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, they're still being made.
Maybe you just want to shut up people who like the idea, as you can't stand that they could possibly have this opinion (which would be pretty pathetic if the case). But has that ever worked? Ever? Has anyone ever shut up about Animal Crossing, or Shenmue, or MGS, or Nintendogs, or the DS, because of your feelings towards them? Maybe you think you're fighting the good fight, but if so, your tactics appear to need some work.
