Nintendogs - 3 Different Versions?

Anyway, the article says there will be more than 150 items/accessories to collect for your dog. It says there are items like the tennisball, helicopter, ribon, ten gallon hat, etc, not including various goods like "dog hood (?)" and milk. It says you use the microphone to help train the dog, using commands such as "sit." Uh, it says something else about the commands, but I can't decipher it.

It says when you walk the dog, it will have some encounters. It can find things to interact with, other puppies to play with, and other various occurances. It says when you return from walking you also have a wide array of "aftercare" to perform, such as shampooing your dog and brushing it so that you can clean it after it becomes dirty.

It says something about a "Dog Conference", which I think is an area that you train your dog in various stunts in preperation for 3 different "Tsugas(?)", one of which is "Dog Contest." You train him in hurdles, tunnels and other such obstacles. It says communication is important in order to have a good performance at the contest. Uh, I believe it says that if the mutual bond between you and the dog becomes deep you will receive treasures... also from winning contests.

It mentions how the game can communicate with other DS even when its idle. And that if you leave the power turned on and "insert it into your bag" your dog just "carries on", making the puppy meet, etc...

When you communicate with other players, you can exchange goods and also get certain puppies not included in your game (as mentioned in this thread.)

It says as also noted that each of the three games have 5 dog kinds where "sex, coat color and breed is different."

Well, that's about all. Someone can do a better translation.

Maybe if they are under twelve and really, really stupid.

Well I'm sure all the chicks will get hot for music puzzle fusion.

Dance Colin, dance!

If demi wanders into this thread, he's going to give me such a humping for that. I think that's a good thing.

Did they add a cooking mini-game for the Korean version?

Damn, there's a lot of good comments in this thread.

Anyway, I'm just glad they ditched the name Puppy Times (or whatever fucking lame title they had allegedly changed it to) and went back to Nintendogs.

It's still called Puppy Times in the US though. Nintendogs is what it'll be called in Japan.

It's nice you can take the dog outside and have tournaments, so I guess the game is more deeper than I thought. but eh.

Oh... Well, hooray for those dipshits that thought a name change was a good idea. Idiots.

"You'll be able to unlock the remaining 10 puppies that aren't available by default for your cartridge by playing the game and communicating with other owners of Nintendogs, like in a virtual dog park. Another feature sees the game communicating with other Nintendog owners and virtual dogs even in the DS's sleep mode."

this is cool

Jesus are you people freaking kidding me? It's a game about dogs that looks no more advanced than a $1 Tamagochi (sp) ripoff I can stroll into any 7-11 and buy. Oh except for that touch stylus :|

Or you could probably find a used Dreamcast, a mic and a copy of Seaman for less than it would cost you for one version of Nintendogs alone. But hey leave it to Nintendo to come up with something as dumb as this and make it even dumber by releasing three versions.

Ok, don't exaggerate. I'm no more pleased with this title than you are, but it looks significantly more advanced that a "$1 Tamagochi."

Sounds like a real game not a simulator to me.

A simulator can be a real game. Not that this is a simulator (I don't know exactly how "deep" or "realistic" it gets), but you can have sims that are games.

From the latest screens, this game actually isn't looking too bad on a technical level, at least relative to other DS titles.

Puppy Times sounds like some kind of canine journey to adulthood story.

Nintendogs is just unbearably cheesy. (outside of this forum)

Go Go Nintendogs :D
it seems Nintendo is ready for large scale of promotion
the page says that free trial demo will be available at April
how can I get?? :/ :D

wow. Cool. Not picking this up but I can see a huge market for this game. 5 dogs per title? Good stuff.. Nintendo has a hit on their hands

so cute.

I may have to murder someone if this is called Puppy Times here. That Nintendogs logo kicks all sorts of ass. I would seriously considering importing it if they change the title.

Im squinting at the kanji, but from what I can make out, the core demographic is college-age and young professional women. As for the target audience, it lists "dog lovers" as being key, and then "people who like animals" as well as "entry-level video game players."

There will be street events in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka during March, and they're putting systems into "popular cafes."

And "Puppy Times" was the tentative project name from last October. Remember how "One-Line Puzzle" became "Polarium"? They'll do something similar here, I imagine. As "Puppy Times" is a terrible name.

US DS ad campaign.

song "who let the dogs out"

3 versions - sort of for the fact that there are 3 games
1 with thin man in suit with dashund?
1 with girl and chiwawa (ala Legally blond)
1 with kids and dog

all sort of hilarity if done right

* now is there is JPN tvc we can download Neo2046? :)

Those boxarts and the logo really are terrific. This definitely is a good embodyment of Nintendo's campaign to widen the DS audience, it should work.

Same here.

Sheesh I dunno why you guys keep bitchin about this game?
It's not even targeted at males. It is very cute and I will buy one to get on a girl's tender side but that is all.

I think we may be witnessing the birth of a new Pokemon-like phenomenom here. This will sell shitloads. You can quote me on that.

If it has enough content, Ill buy it (I am a 25 y/o male btw)

Can you create cross breeds?

In all seriousness that would add a great element to trading / dog sex.
Since we haven't heard anything about it, I very much doubt it. It would also make their lives much much more difficult to make sure hundreds of cross-breeding possibilities worked.

It sounds neat, but wireless activity during sleep time = huge battery drain. They'll have to at least put in a failsafe that will shut off the feature if the battery gets below a certain level.
