I want to give this game a chance because I don't think we would see this kind of game from say SONY. But I bet we will see both MS and Sony copies later.

Sure its targeted at girls but I think it would be fun just to give it a run on GAF
I'm seeing it as a challenge to play something I would not have played otherwise calling one puppy Drinky is a bonus

We can do it two ways as a club.

A) I buy/send 5 free copies to GAF members

B) 5 people buy Nintendogs and Promise to be part of the Drinky Puppy Club*

Drinky Puppy Club = Promise to name one pup Drinky, Promise to post pics of your Drinky Pup, Promise to post reports on GAF of your Drinky pup

I had very little interest in this game until I saw the GDC video on IGN, now I have no doubt that I'll be getting this. The game is highly interactive, with the dogs even responding to whistling and calling their names. You can teach them tricks using actual voice commands. The speaker even made reference to the dogs leaving "presents" on the grass.

I wonder if I can teach my drinky puppy to lick his ass every time I say "BUY A PS2".

as for pre-ordering. im gonna strongly recommend Japan Videogames. i get all my imports from them. they're one of (if not the) biggest distributor of imports in southern california. they get all imports 2-4 days before they even hit japan (with the exception of first party Nintendo games which they get on the normal japanese release date).

It's up to you, you're paying for it!

But here's what the deal is:
Japanese version gets released on April 21.
US version is still TBA.

So it could potentially be a while before the US version gets released.

I'd still like to be in the club, but I couldn't in good conscience have you buy me a US copy, for reasons you might be able to guess at given my job.

Buying the Japanese games would be a significantly higher price, and soon (it's out in the middle of next month), so if that wasn't what you were planning on from the beginning we probably shouldn't force you.

Plus, you know. It's in Japanese.

(And: actually you set your own voice commands, so no, you wouldn't be speaking Japanese.)

The only bad part about this is that the people who want the US version may have to wait months before they get to post.

And you will have to get a bunch of different orders and shipments... probably costing you more in the long run.
