Nintendo's Marko Hein

This is what I can't understand. If the machine comes in under 200 dollars and comes packed with a cutting edge control system and the ability to play all of Nintendo's console catalogue, you don't think it wouldn't make a nice compliment to your PS3 or X360? Why do they have to piss away their bank on a technology war that they will certainly lose against Sony? Do you guys play games, or do you play technology?

I think people underestimate how much money Nintendo could put in to their R&D if they choose to.

At the end of the day the 'next generation' of consoles should impress graphically or what's the point having a next gen? Why not continue making games for current systems? Don't get me wrong, I want Nintendo to win but if they come out with the poor mans console they're finished.

I also think people underestimate how much Sony is willing to lose. They essentially brought a bazooka to the gunfight with MS this E3--what is Nintendo going to do technology wise?

In the end, I expect the machine to be an real improvement over the GC, but it's not going to be dripping with power like the other consoles. It will get the job done, especially for developers looking to do something more stylized.

nowhere does the exec state that theyll launch with less powerfull hardware.
the "Nintendo MAY launch with less powerfull blah blah... " bit was added by the author of the article, and thus is pure speculation.
All the exec said is that he has doubts about the demo's sony showed.

You people seriously need to learn to read
Nintendo are launching a year later then MS, and have a more talented ATI team then MS designing their gpu. relax...

The Nintendo Revolution may not be as powerful as Sony's PS3 and Xbox 360 when it launches next year, but it will provide a far better experience and open up gaming to a whole new audience.

That's according to Marko Hein
Other than the lack of quotation marks, I don't see any spin.
