Avoid group battles and use the bow you acquire to pick off stragglers with head shots. If there is a demon face it with your Yokai transformation or learn to space and punish with strong long range attacks like throwing axes, Kusarigama toss, or spear thrust.lol I keep dying non-stop on the first mission. Any tips?
I think Wo Long's gameplay design is better for not having burst counters, stamina management for basic attacks, and Ki Pulse. Also has cool weapon specials (Martial Arts), Stratagems, and better armor set bonuses for different builds. It also animates much more fluidly.Love Nioh 2 so much and was expecting Wo Long to be better but it became so simplified and lacked any depth.
Rise of the Ronin was even worse. Hope they go back to making a game with as much depth and fun gameplay as Nioh 2 again.
I picked up Nioh on Epic for free a while back. Is Nioh 2 the better game?
I think most fans would say yes, but seeing as they play nearly identically apart from a couple of new features in the sequel, don't expect a radically different experience if you hated the original.
This is how I felt about the first, and why I haven't tried the second yetI hate both Nioh games
- Terrible level design
- Bland looking levels
- super mediocre art-direction
- Over convoluted gameplay mechanics
- nonsensical stories
- bullshit, OCD inducing loot system for the OCD kiddies
This isn't the right way to copy the souls formula.
Big Team Ninja fan btw, just not a fan of this bullshit
But you may have just sold me lolPlus, you can cosplay as a Hayabusa ninja.
I think you can make a Dragon Ninja build with Hayabusa gear too, you can also fight Hayabusa clan members, joe or someone elseThis is how I felt about the first, and why I haven't tried the second yet

I would say both Nioh 1 and 2 are absolutely worth playing. I'm in the "Nioh 2 is best" boat, but after revisiting 1, I can see why some might think 1 is better. The overall tone and more straightfoward combat has its own distinct feel in 1. They added more combat mechanics in 2 and bumped up the difficulty.I bought the game this morning.
Haven't even touched the original game or this, only saw a review a few years ago so kind of going in blind. Will see how I go. I hope it is more challenging than Lies of P.
more challenging than Lies of P is an understatement imo. Nioh 2 is probably the hardest game i have ever playedI bought the game this morning.

Is the platinum run really tough?
Nah.Not with Ninja Gaiden 2 around, no.
Best RPG combat system though.
Nah.
Sekiro > Ninja Gaiden 2.
If you enjoy pressing one button with that simplistic-ass combat system, sure. Just stand in place and parry. Better than Nioh and NG? LolNah.

I’ve probably put more hours in NG, NGB, NGS, NG2 and NGS2 more than anyone in this forum. And yes, Sekiro is the better game.If you enjoy pressing one button with that simplistic-ass combat system, sure. Just stand in place and parry. Better than Nioh and NG? Lol
From fans really need to get a clue.
Might be the better game because the story isn’t complete ass and the exploration is awesome, but as far as combat goes, it doesn’t hold a candle to NG or Nioh.I’ve probably put more hours in NG, NGB, NGS, NG2 and NGS2 more than anyone in this forum. And yes, Sekiro is the better game.
I completely disagree, for me Sekiro ‘s combat was absolute bliss.goes, it doesn’t hold a candle to NG or Nioh.
It’s not bad and is quite unique, but 1 weapon with a limited moveset and a couple of Shinobi tools don’t make for enough combat and encounter variety. Far too centralized around the parry system and doesn’t let the player get as creative as NG or Nioh’s far deeper combat.I completely disagree, for me Sekiro ‘s combat was absolute bliss.
Again i disagrees you can use sub weapons and skills to make combat even more interesting. It’s not bad and is quite unique, but 1 weapon with a limited moveset and a couple of Shinobi tools don’t make for enough combat and encounter variety. More difficult than Nioh 1? I beat a sequence of bosses 1st try in Nioh 2 which I never managed in Nioh 1. It felt like a lot of the bosses were a downgrade compared to the first game.I would say both Nioh 1 and 2 are absolutely worth playing. Where the Nioh games lack in level design and exploration, they make up for with thrilling combat. As for the complaints about the Diablo-like loot system, I think they're pretty nonsensical as the game allows multiple ways to make use of your excess/trash loot. I like to offer my excess loot to shrines for extra XP (Amrita) and elixirs.
Also, Wo Long is a great time too.
I still like Sekiro’s combat better, in fact I go as far as say it has best sword combat. Now compare this to Nioh and NG and have a laugh. This is a farce compared to what you can do either game.
Eh maybe. Can’t give it to a game where you can stand in place, press one button and beat 90% of the enemies, but that might just be me.I still like Sekiro’s combat better, in fact I go as far as say it has best sword combat.
IMO it's the precision that makes it the best. I'd argue Sekiro's mechanics being built around less mechanics is what makes it a boon, in a quality > quantity way. Enemies aren't just fodder. Everyone is unique and poses a unique threat, and the only way to overcome them is to get good at actually fighting/using the mechanics. It's the only one of these games that feels like an instinctual dance to me, legit methodical. Insane speed, perfect hit boxes, extreme precision.I still like Sekiro’s combat better, in fact I go as far as say it has best sword combat.
To each their own. Could it be that you were more familiar with how to play Nioh in general by the time that you got to 2, versus 1 still being a "new" experience thus had a more challenging time with it?More difficult than Nioh 1? Sekiro indeed has the best sword combat, but it's also its own thing, dare I say it's own genre. I don't think it makes sense to try to compare it to NG; The NG games are in the same vein of action games like DMC or Bayonetta (NG being the best of these). IMO it's like arguing that Gran Turismo has better driving than Mario Kart. One is a racing sim, another is an arcade racer. Different genres going for different feel/experience.I still like Sekiro’s combat better, in fact I go as far as say it has best sword combat.
This is a very reductionist perspective towards Sekiro combat. If you're only standing in place and parrying, that shows the depth of your skill as the game's combat system allows for much more technical and varied playstyles, and use of the shinobi tools. Sekiro combat is extremely dynamic and visceral, if you know how to maximize your shinobi toolkit and chain together different skills.stand in place, press one button
Just like any action game you can play it most boring way possible, in game DMC just use combo and nothing else and beat the game, its same with Sekiro……it up player if they want to use tools given to them. This is a very reductionist perspective towards Sekiro combat. Path of least resistance. You cannot do that at all in NG. The fact that Sekiro’s combat can be diluted to that one simple mechanic is why I don’t think it belongs in the discussion. That and the fairly limited amount of options the combat provided compared to the other games mentioned. This is a very reductionist perspective towards Sekiro combat. Just use combo and nothing else? Nice try at doing an equivalency, but you failed miserably. Pulling off combos still require astronomically more engagement than timing your parry. Not that this even matters because Sekiro’s combat is insanely limited and restrictive compared to NG or Nioh 2.Just like any action game you can play it most boring way possible, in game DMC just use combo and nothing else and beat the game, its same with Sekiro……it up player if they want to use tools given to them.
How far are you in the game? It gets a bit repetitive after a while and a great amount of cool stuff is reserved for after you beat the main campaign...
I never experienced that with the From games. Nioh 2 still had some bosses that gave me a lot of trouble but it felt like that were a lot of filler bosses that went down a bit too easily. To each their own. I was god-like at the first game. Made into the top ten globally for a week or two.
Practically ovulating.
I just didn't have the time for the second when it came out.
Tough to go back to it now.
Ovulating...?
