I imagine so and I also am not one to say that it's done for just gratuitous purposes. I think the writing is too good for that. I do think it oversells the symbolism (I'm assuming that it has something to do with the politics of the land being no different than what goes in a brothel there, but all the moaning distracts me :lol)I think the scene was much more than just that, though. The whole faking orgasms thing is just the surface, and the subtext is much deeper.
The duplicity (& triplicity if that's a word) is already so incredibly evident that we don't need an obvious metaphor for things are not really as they appear/sound. Heck, Littlefinger is the personification of it. I will say that I like how they transform the one girl from being clueless to apparently running the place in Littlefinger's absence- showing how quickly she adapts to the world outside of the North.
