"WHOA! Since when were there wolves on this show?"

Some people must be extremely preoccupied with other things while watching this show or something.

As she keeps saying (over and over and over again), she thinks that "the people" want her on the throne. She's thinking that there's going to be a massive uprising that will support her claim to the throne as soon as she lands on the shore over there. Basically, she's got a similar sense of entitlement that her brother did.

The problem with her plan is that (as far as we've seen) nobody really supports her claim to the throne, although we haven't really seen enough of what the peasants think to really know one way or another.

I'm pretty sure somebody in this show said "peasants don't care who is king" all of these nobility just have delusions that they are the one the people really love

Eh, they don't really show the wolves all that often, so they are kind of a "blink and you'll miss it" kind of thing. At this point, they just seem to be a convenient plot device to go to when they need to get one of the characters out of trouble, like when that guy was trying to kill Bran back in S1.

I really enjoyed how the Spice King completely deflated Dany's argument earlier this season: "So you have no troops, no allies, no ships?". I'm really curious to see what happens if/when she ever does make it back to Westeros.

By the way, am I using that right? Does Westeros refer to just the continent that the non-Dany stuff takes place on, or is that the name for the entire world?

Correct. The seven kingdoms are in Westeros, and Dany has been hanging out in Essos the whole time.

Non book readers interested in GoT's universe should check the Blu-ray set. It has a MAGNIFICENT encyclopedia that explains pretty much everything since the begining of time till the end of the first season, from geography and kingdoms to creatures present and past.

It is amazing stuff, seriously. Well worth the price.

Where's the city(land?) that the killer and Arya's dance master came from?
Braavos, some city-state (island, IIRC) in Essos.

Edit: Super-light spoilers (culture and such): http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Braavos

I may have misunderstood, but I think the line about a "small boat" was sarcastic. I think they have enough loot to buy anything.

I don't know, you might be right but it seems that after finding his vault to be empty, and most of his wealth a lie, that it is more likely a literal statement rather than sarcastic.

Just caught up, man I found this episode to be extremely weak, one of the worst of the season. It focused on everything I don't care about. Dany is fucking annoying and stupid I don't care about her storyline, the Lannister prisoner guy STILL wasn't delivered, Joffre goes on as normal, they barely touched on Arya or Tyrion which are my favorite characters on the show and gave both a combined 5 minutes maybe. It felt like nothing was resolved, I'm okay with teasing for S3 but at least give us some satisfaction for 1 of the storylines instead of every single one of them being 'to be continued'. That's not a finale that's an intermission.

ROAR

Reminds me something out of the Pirates of Caribbean.

Joffrey is a lucky boy alright.

Okay, as we were panning up the horse from the ground I said to myself "If this is a white-walking-Eddard Stark I'm gonna shit my pants, OMG best show ever"

Then as it turned out to not be him I said to myself "Well that wouldn't have made sense anyway."

I just really miss Eddard.

Only just realized today how old the books actually are. First one out in 96, had no idea, and assumed this GoT pop explosion was because the books were recent. lol

It's been fun reading so far.

He needs to come back :(

I'm sure there are some sort of necromancers in this show. If we can imagine vagina monsters, we can get necromancers.

And speaking of what the peasants think, what was the deal with them starving in King's Landing? I get that it was an easy way to show that Joffrey's a bad king or whatever, but I can't quite figure out how that was supposed to be his fault. We never actually heard what the cause of the famine was, correct? For all we know, there was just a drought and all the crops died, causing the superstitious peasants to use Joffrey as a scapegoat.

I think it was less "Joffrey caused this" and more "Joffrey isn't stopping this."

Did anyone important die this season?
For a show touted as not really plot proofing characters from death, the only truly likable people to die so far in two seasons that I can recall are the blatantly naive Ned and the barbaric/ ignorant Drogo. You can see most deaths coming if you're payin attention.

A lot died, but there's no way to top last season where newbies weren't aware that the main characters weren't really the main characters. Ned's was not shocking as they stretched it out over a couple of episodes, but it wasn't supposed to happen King Robert's so his was shocking.

The season is set up to champion those gunning for the throne & Robb. From that view, Renly & Davos imo were big ones. 2 major ones for Winterfell.

The only ones that would surprise me now are most of the Stark kids, Tyrion, & Dany. Hers would make the most sense for shock purposes. If she dies, the dragons fall out of the picture.

Pretty much everyone except the small part of the kingdom that the Lannisters have always controlled is now in one way or another against King's Landing, therefore trade and taxes are disrupted. The Lannisters are known for being rich, not for being farmers. But you can't buy if nobody's selling. King's Landing doesn't have enough farmland of its own, and none that can be defended against Robb's army, so much of that land is already probably abandoned.

Double post i know...

I just watched the finale for a second time... its not that great of an "episode" merely because its setting up plot points for next season... and it did that very well.

- Maester Luwin scene almost made me shed a tear. That really sucks about his outcome.
- Winterfell: (my theory) The ironn island guys left free of harm due to Robb's command. The ask over theon would protect his identity(?). Winterfell was already burnt prior to their leaving. Not sure where the northreners were.
- Sansa's smile was still cute. Not sure why she didnt take the hound up ( i still thik she did butwe dont know).
- Dany about to wreck shit. The warlock mentioned "thousands of seasons"... i wonder if she can live long or something.
- arya and jaqen was awesome. I hope theres more of him.
- I really hope someone from the stark family sees Jon Snow. I feel like he'll never be seen again from them (thus making the watch vow true)
- Robb is so fucked
- Brienne is badass and Jaimie knows this now
- i still dont see how sam isnt dead but if the wights didnt kill the guy in the f' irst ep then i still believe.... the horns still gave me chills.

As long as dany isn't over the ocean I think she's pretty much protected by "tv rules." I mean we wont follow a character who isn't involved with the main storyline through 2 seasons just to see her die somewhere far away from any of the other characters. That said, I was kind of worried when the Warlock captured her.

I must be one of the few who don't want Cersei too die. I wouldn't be too upset if she did but it would be cooler if she hung around.

You forgot Theon.

And Cersei shouldn't die, but descent to a pit of despair and drunk madness. From the looks of it, we are getting there.

I want a primary Lannister to die that isn't Tyrion. I think that woud shock up the story a bit.

I don't want Cercei to die because she is a perfect sparring partner with Tyrion. Some of the best conversations were between those two and where Tyrion outwits her, she has a way to cut to his heart. It's like oil and water battling.

Plus she knows the game better than anyone. She seems to have invented some of it.

Do the seasons line up with the books.

i.e. Is this the point where the second book ended?

Don't do what you're thinking of. Unlike the first book, the second is drastically different. (And superior.. the more the show veered off the path, the worse the story and dialogue became)

She doesn't know shit about the game. She is blunt and superficial in her approach (power is power), and that is going to bit her in the ass sooner or later.

Tyrion is cunning and stealthy, Cersei is violent and upfront. No way Cersei is outliving Tyrion.
