Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

A close friend made this and it's had me laughing all day. I have to get this off my chest somehow:

GAF loves to ride trains though!

Choo Choo!

This is the correct response to this thread

No, I haven't seen the movies.

Wow I'm kinda shocked. Back to the Future is probably the movie I've seen the most times in my life. I just can't imagine someone with access to movies not having seen that movie. Well anyway the movie soundtrack features several Huey Lewis & The News songs (Huey Lewis himself has a cameo role in the movie), one of which is called "The Power of Love" which is featured in this scene and contains the lyric "don't need no credit card to ride this train".

Please tell me you've seen the original Die Hard though, right? Right?

Gosh OP haven't you read GAF before? Anybody without a credit card is undisciplined weak willed oxygen theif.

Wait, an album cover? Oh I'm so confused now.

oh okay Lol. Yes, I've seen every Die Hard movie. I'll buy Back to the future this weekend.

Okay, I think my favorite track is now the mix of Santana/RobThomas' "Smooth" and Enya's "Orinoco Flow"......is there a reason this is just one big megamix rather than having discrete music tracks?

it's like witch house kind of art work but the music is just mash ups and no ritual sacrifice. your friend should check out the art of Winston Smith.

The thing some people who make remixes don't understand is harmony. By taking one chord structure and slapping it on top of another with no consideration for their harmonic properties, the music becomes painful to listen to. Better luck next time.

billie jean/smells like teen spirit

this shit is insane

Imagine All Star People has the most potential to cleverly ruin a song out of the entire thing, in my opinion.

Just found an AV Club review.

Nostalgia can be tricky and, if it’s directed at something you have no personal connection to, pretty stupid. The ever-accelerating nostalgia cycle is deftly skewered by “Mouth Sounds,” the brilliant new mixtape from musician/comedian Neil Cicierega.

Glad to see this work getting so much attention.

I credit this thread with introducing me to a lot of the hilarious stuff that's been posted to SoundCloud. I didn't realize they had a community so dedicated to funny mixes and mashups.
