No. I know very few console games have FOV sliders but NMS has it so low compared to everything else that it's jarring.
Yeah, an upside down underwater chandelier.Apparently I got lucky and found it pretty quickly. You do know what it looks like right?
Performance increase on PC with Foundation update. Yay or No?
Use melee+jetpack and be like Starlord boosting over canyons. They didn't patch it out so maybe it's officially endorsed![]()

Ah yeah I saw that too. Must be new, I don't remember it from before.I have seen one with a spherical head since the update. That one is more of a saucer, so not quite the same. The one I saw looked a lot like the ship from 2001: A Space Oddyssey, actually.
I desperately need a freighter but I'm holding off because I want this one. Anyone seen it? It was there in 1.09 but I haven't found it as of late.
I pulled the No Man's Sky trigger, and it's downloading now on Steam![]()

Ah, hadn't thought about that. Could be, altough I saw many freighters and still haven't seen a front like thatAre freighters still limited to static types? I guessed I assumed since they're now purchasable they'd also be procedurally generated like the other ships.

Infrastructure: Carbon, Iron
Containers: Iron, Voltaic Cell
Decals: Iron
Cuboid Rooms: Iron, Glass, Heridium
Lights: Heridium, Voltaic Cell
Farming: Iron, Zinc, Thamium9. Antrium (there's probably more here, I'm stuck with progressing the farming questline atm)
Tech: (I'm listing these separately because Tech is kind of a special group with various requirements)
Decoration: Iron, Zinc, Heridium, Voltaic Cell, very few Glass, Dynamic Resonator and Copper Wire
- Beacon: Voltaic Cell, Carite Sheet
- Save Point: Platinum, Iron
- Signal Booster: Platinum, Iron
- Landing Pad: Voltaic Cell, Non-ferrous Plate, Lubricant
- Communications Station: Iron
- Autonomous Mining Unit: Voltaic Cell, Insulating Gel, Copper Wire
Specialist Terminals: Iron
Room Parts: Iron, Glass and Voltaic Cell, while Emeril and Circuit Board just for the Galactic Trade Terminal (btw, Circuit Board so far is used only for the Galactic Trade Terminal and needs 10 of 'em)
Antrium:
- Voltaic Cell (Containers, Beacon, Autonomous Mining Unit, Lights, Room Parts, Landing Pad, Decoration)
- Non-ferrous Plate (Circuit Board, Landing Pad)

Candensium:
- Non-ferrous Plate (Circuit Board, Landing Pad)
Rigogen:
- Copper Wire (Circuit Board, Autonomous Mining Unit)
Mordite:
- Lubricant (Landing Pad)
Spadonium:
- Insulating Gel (Autonomous Mining Unit)
Temerium:
- Insulating Gel (Autonomous Mining Unit)

Coprite: Explosive (no use?)
Tropheum: (no use?)
Cymatygen: (no use?)
Rubeum: (no use?)
Viridium: (no use?)
Pugneum: (no use?)
It's do low that even maxing it on PC is still jarring...No. I know very few console games have FOV sliders but NMS has it so low compared to everything else that it's jarring.
I'd hazard a guess that the new elements with little or no use currently are there for whatever the upcoming new feature are. They named the update as 'Foundation' for a purpose. Thanks for this video, it helps getting a better perspective on the new elements and resources. In addition, I'd like to mention a few things that might be useful to people as well as a reminder for myself, since I'm still not used to the new resources. Also, I still haven't bought a freighter, so maybe there are more recipes related to them?
So here are the main Base Building groups and the rough basic requirements for them, mostly ordered by importance/frequency of use:
So as a rough look at these base building requirements, the most important resources and craftable items are Iron, Voltaic Cell, Glass (mostly for decorative purposes), maybe a bit less of the much more common old elements like Carbon, Heridium, Platinum, even fewer instances of Thamium9 (Farming) and Zinc and only one or two special instances of Copper Wire (Decoration and Circuit Board for the Galactic Trade Terminal), Circuit Board (Galactic Trade Terminal), Non-ferrous plate (Landing Pad) and Lubricant (also Landing Pad).
With that in mind, almost two thirds of the new elements have no apparent use, so these are the most important new resources:
And these resources seem to have no use at the moment?
tl;dr
Antrium (all glowing plants on the ground, mostly in caves or cave openings and plateaus) is probably the most useful new element since it's used for the most useful new stuff like the Voltaic Cell, Containers, the Beacon, Farming etc.
Coryzagen (the blue crystalline plant) is used only for Glass, which in turn is mostly used for decorative purposes and some room parts.
Thankfully, Rigogen (the elusive inverse chandelier underwater plants), Candensium (small green plants in radioactive biomes) and Mordite (dropped from killed animals) are really only used (so far) for the Galactic Trade Terminal and the Landing Pad.
The rest of the recipes and building pieces mostly use Iron (which is really easily mined by throwing a grenade at a dense group of stalagmites), Heridium, Platinum, Zinc, Thamium9 and Carbon.

Ah.. I'll have to try that. You can go higher on PC with a config file edit. I use 160 personally which is +60 to the game's official maximum which feels like 60 horizontal or something.
Anyone unlocked those garage doors yet?
My Base Terminus only shows the last space station I teleported from. Is there a way to list multiple space stations that you have teleported to/from? I thought I saw images listing multiple stations.
I've only been to two stations since I started building and both are listed. Not sure what I did, if anything, to make both show up.

Anyone unlocked those garage doors yet? Also I can't seem to get the elevated, outdoor floor tiles to build. Don't know what half the building stuff is for actually. lol
I've been wondering about that too.
Gah! They are in the infrastructure tab. Completely missed it until now.
