Yup, space police. Not sure if they're around in every system but I'd think so.

They say you can play this game as a space pirate, but I just don't see how. Attacking any capital ship gets you sentinels, which spawn in an infinite loop of more and more ships and seems to do that in every system.

Is there some way to mark space stations so that they are at least visible? In my first solar system, the space station was automatically marked and fairly easy to navigate to as a result.

I've discovered and explored all 4 planets in my current solar system and still can't locate a space station.

The icon seems to go away when you're close to it. Pulse engine away a bit and it should show up.

Is there a way to tell how long you have played? I have looked at the in-game save in the options but that does not seem to indicate it. I have not checked the save file on my PS4 though, maybe there?

Holy Moly!
Landed on a barren planet with EXTREME acid storms going on. My suit protection completely wore down in 20 seconds.
I'm outta here!

I said before, if you get into the atmosphere on a storm planet your ship should be forced to land, damaged and there's a 50/50 chance of you lifting off again. There's a disconnect between the planet fuckin' you up but not even touching your ship.

I usually just scan and they will come up after looking around a bit. Sometimes planets are in the LOS so you have to pulse drive around a bit - they usually are right next to Atlas stations if it's in your solar system. I suppose it's possible there are none but I highly doubt it.

Not sure why they don't have a system map or a little easier markings for space points

It's ridiculously easy to get rid of your wanted level though. When you get bored of whooping sentinel ships just pulse drive a short distance. I would say it's too easy to be a space pirate.

How do you folks track this stuff down though

Exploring.. Fully exploring. On my way to markers I'll fly low and pulse scan, or since I've upgraded my inventory and added envirofilters I can travel on foot for large stretches. While the game has one biome per planet, actually traveling far on a single planet has made me appreciate the shuttle different shifts in environments within a planet. I've found it easier to travel in a ship away from my initial landing cluster to find more frequently grouped monoliths or factories.

Back on topic, I've learned over 150 words, have 3 million dollars after a 26 slot ship and have like 30 slot Exo suit and I haven't even left my first solar system.

To break up the monotony I self manage between activities every 45 minutes or so. I'll have s scanning slot of time, or a hour of tracking down monoliths, knowledge stones and ruins, or a hour of just breaking into facilities for new recipes. I can craft everything myself with blue prints.

I haven't left the first system yet I have a full hyper drive and I'm always will be ready to go without ever paying for fuel. I even found advanced warp reactor schematics for when I need them!

I noticed I can craft and trade and get better values planet to planet/station/trader...so I might explore a trading route between my next solar systems.

I'm just chilling playing at my own pace. In at this rate the game will be patched, updated with fixes and new content long before I hit the tedium limit.

If i hate loot gathering, survival mechanics, and grinding for endless upgrades but love exploration and cool looking worlds would this game be for me? I read some reviews and am worried about how prominent the 'survival' stuff seems to be.

How badly am I screwed?

I am still in the starting system and have played for about 6 hours. I am missing a piece of antimatter to craft a warp cell. I don't remember if I had it and sold it or never got it, but according to what I read antimatter is supposed to be given to you no matter what in the starting system. So I'm assuming I did something that I wasn't supposed to with that antimatter. The game keeps telling to go out into space and fire up the warp drive to go the next system but I can't since the drive is out of fuel. I have the crafting schematic for the warp cell but not the the antimatter itself. I really don't want to start the whole thing over... so is a cheat table my only option?

bump! please help!

Maybe wait for some cheat/encumbrance mods

I am on a planet that seemed to have landing pads and call beacons everywhere. Left my ship to find the last creature and figured it was safe with so many places to call the ship. Realised I was ~30 mins from my ship when I finally found the creature. Lots and lots of boring water in between.
So I said "well I'm gonna stumble upon a call thingy aaaany second now". Now I'm 1 hour from my ship, still no beacon. Oops.

Realised I hadn't found a place to save for about 45 mins either and I had found sooo many words during that time. Finally got to a small shelter with a save point. Now to decide if I keep going the other way (towards transmission tower markers), go straight back to the ship through the soul crushingly boring water or try to go back but around the water :p
It's not a very fun planet, very barren on land with lots of water and underwater stuff. Lots and lots of word stones tho. Hrm.

Onward, adventurer!

So I have an issue. I claimed my preorder ship before I got the blueprints to make one.

1) how do I get the blueprint

2) how do i get antimatter to make the fuel for it?

Does every starting system have a space station? I need to sell all these artifacts. My inventory is completely full.

I've been destroying stuff to make room and I don't like wasting my stuff like this.

I can't find any traders on the planet.

Every system has a space station, 99% positive.

If the hexagon icon for it isn't showing up try doing a scan it in space.

Will there ever be a point in the game where i dont have to worry about resources so much?

For survival? Yes, you upgrade your life support and it depletes very, very slowly putting much less strain on your stock of silicates. Your ship's shields will mean you take less damage, so less oxides required to stay alive in space, etc.

You'lll obviously need resources for crafting upgrades until you have what you want.

If you keep exploring you will eventually find schematics for crafting Suspension Fluid, Electron Vapor, and Antimatter which is all you need to make Warp Cells. But it may take a while. I don't recall how the intro stuff went exactly.

Edit: Just buy some more Antimatter from the Galactic trade terminal at the station.

Hmmmmm. Tricky.

At first, yes, the survival and grinding mechanics are fairly prevalent. It doesn't take too long to get to a point where it's not much of an issue.

Yes, if you have all the blueprints to make warp cells you only need to stockpile Zinc. For everything else iyou need plutonium, carbon, heredium and that one resource you'll find in almost every single asteroid. Those resources are fucking everywhere, so you don't actually bother to collect them unless you need them.

All three warp drive upgrades and all of them are connected to both the hyperdrive and each other. Yiss
There's only three?
I'm already there, but still only my first 1.5m purchased ship with a Tau drive. Going to hold out on upgrading until I get a nice 8.5-10m ship or find one with 40+ slots.

Yeah like for everything else in the game. Theta, Tau and Sigma.

All three connected to the hyperdrive gives you maximum possible warp distance.

There is a theta upgrade? Damn, how did you get it? Because for a while now every single blueprint I find is a duplicate.

Very much a survival loot gathering game. They don't give you many slots for items so you are constantly buying, collecting, selling and dismantling items. Now I like that compared to just hoarding items but if I didn't that would get annoying. Survival is a bigger part than exploring

Don't have the blueprint myself. Waited in a space station until a ship with 40+ slots came in and the theta upgrade already installed. It also had to be connected to the hyperdrive. Safe to say I waited probably an hour lol.

No, i love exploration and the game sucks at that too unfortunately. If you can rent this game, do it. Don't buy it though.

I think scanning needs to be improved when trying to capture flying creatures. Way too hard to scan them.
I spent several minutes last night trying from different positions and at different zoom points and the closest I got to "analysing" was a nanosecond of the noise appearing.
