So this just happened:
LlssLiL.gif

Autopilot on Pulse Drive + destination being on the exact opposite side of the planet. Had the same thing last night o_0
Glad it doesn't actually break anything when it happens, do hope they fix it though.

Wow, I just spent about 90 minutes exploring a gigantic cave system full of Emeril. I was worried I wouldn't find a exit. Now I've got seven stacks of Emeril.

I think scanning needs to be improved when trying to capture flying creatures. Way too hard to scan them.
Yeah, I always have to kill them to scan them. :(
I also have to aim the scanner at land living creatures a couple of times before the scanner gets it. They are clearly in range (sometimes the scanner picks up something else behind them) so I dunno why it's having so much trouble.

I only say that because I've done the same thing. I ended up with no elements to recharge my life support as I was stumbling up to an outpost. It was satisfying.
Sounds fun :D

Why can't I warp to a super close neighboring green or red star without "Warp Drive Sigma / Tau"? It just won't let me do it even though it's literally next to where I am.

Hmmm...what to do with a distress points in space? Near one of the planets was a fight and I didn't join it, now it's permanent waypoint every time I enter the ship, also it's point to two other ships in the system which I have permanent markers on.

A lot of people sleep on the grenade launcher.

Find yourself lost in a cave?
Look up and shoot your way out of it.

Those annoying doors you have to destroy on observatories and colonial outposts?
Lob one grenade at them and they gone.

Need some iron real quick?
Lob a grenade and boom your inventory is now full of iron

One do those bipedal sentinels bothering you?
Lob a... You get the idea.

Agreed, I just spent 20 minutes waiting for 2 species of birds to materialize, they fly higher than any other birds I've encounter and then simply dither away instead of fly off in another direction..worse they despawn if they get a 20 feet away.. Finally scanned one, got the credit and experienced my first crash to the launch menu.

-_-
1st crash in 40 hours.. So it's better than lots of players..but man I'm not going after that discovery again!

Shoot the birds down and it'll scan the body.

I know :(

Has anybody seen any actual mountains of valleys/canyons? I don't think the game generates these, which is disappointing. And I mean really really big mountains and canyons.. I've yet to see any rivers either.

I've found giant mountains & canyons on a couple of planets but no rivers running through them so far. I'm talking big ass mountains too where my ship was almost flying vertically trying to fly over.

Left my first system and got into a fight with two pirates upon arrival in the second. I ended up blowing through all of my ample Iron & Zinc supplies keeping my deflectors up.

I'm probably going to start prioritising ship upgrades now.

Still on my farm planet, not ready to move yet. It was a slow start, but after I sold two full inventories of Gold, the ball started rolling. One sale fully funded 8 new exosuit slots, then I filled those with more Gold and now I have money for about 8 more slots.
So I'm basically strolling around between drop pods, picking up.gold along the way, learning many new words and getting a lot of blueprints. And I still have about a dozen unvisited manufacturing facilities, monoliths, ruins and observatories.

Man, I'm absolutely loving this game. Even if it does get tedious later which every game eventually will, it has still been worth it for me.

of course someone had ask my question but, this game, will be available on XboxONE in your opinion? Sony could not permit this "porting" in the future?

Yes, anything is possible. But don't hold your breath waiting for possible XB1 version if you actually wanna play cause even if it happens, it ain't happening any time soon.

I think it will get there, but after some time. Timed console exclusive.

However whether the game is a PS4 exclusive or whether this was a timed exclusive that might one day come to Xbox One.

So when we spoke to Hello Games Sean Murray, the man responsible for creating No Man's Sky, we asked him and received a rather coy response for what we assumed was a very straightforward question.

In response Murray told us he wasn't sure what he was "actually allowed to say" at the time, noting that he needed to be "very specific with my words".

Before going any further though, Sony's rep stepped in to move the interview along, explaining that at this time there was nothing more to add.

Make of that what you will.

Is there a button to hid the HUD? I have seen a button to show it but I want to hide it for better screenshots.

Also, make sure to upvote my bush (NSFW).

Yea, I've 100% two planets and had to resort to shooting them down on each of those, but these fly to high for the laser, and two fast for the bolts. Worse I've been hunting them casually for a couple days, coming back every now and then for items and stuff as I prepare to leave the system. They seemed to spawn the best here prior to the game locking up... I know Hello is exhausted and I can wait for a patch...but I hope with the PC release shitstorm it won't take to long.

Hot fix please

I keep seeing videos of people blowing holes in the actual land. How are they doing this? Tried my mining beam and boltcaster. Neither work in actually punching holes through the ground or in caves to get out.

So how do I "discover" a species? I'm still pretty early in the game (haven't built my hyperdrive yet) but I am running into wildlife, however nothing happens?

After 10 hours of grinding and repetitiveness I have decided to sell the game. I watched the ending on youtube and boy...it's not worth the "journey"

I can understand that depending on the planets the start can be pretty cool. If you get planets with cool colors and animals it's quite magic and cool. But after the second warp it's just so boring. The planets don't vary that much and it's the same procedure for each system. Find enough resources to do another warp. Nothing else and the planets don't have anything to do besides grinding ressources. You literally do nothing for the whole game. No special interactions with aliens if you find some. No interesting quests. No interesting planets. No interesting infrastructure. Nothing...

And how many bugs has this game? They are not just bugs, but they crash your game! At some time I stopped counting the crashes. This game needs at least half a year of work and a concept for the game. Because this is a tech demo at best

So I was reading all the reviews, see the impressions and looking at the forum buzz for No Man's Sky for the last week (or since Tuesday, but whatever), and I was still pumped to pick the game up on PC despite what everyone was saying.

Well, 3 hours later I'm glad to say that the game has been everything that I wanted it to be and is incredible to just lose yourself in. Turn on a podcast or music station, pop open a cold beer and go explore! Finally got a new ship, made my second hyperspace jump (by accident too) and I'm excited to see what worlds I find in this new system.

Maybe $60 was too much, maybe it wasn't. All I know is even with the iffy performance on the PC the game is great as an escape and leisure experience.

You will receive blueprints to upgrade your multitool with rocket launchers, grenades etc...

Scan them with L2, then go to options-discoveries and rename them (if you wish) and upload them to server. You get cash reward for every upload.

I honestly apologize if this has already been asked/posted but with work and stuff it's super hard for me to keep up on this thread - has anyone compiled a list of "types" of locations and what they tend to have (ex Ruins, Abandoned Buildings, etc)? Like if at the scanner you choose "Transmission" it leads to x, x and x location types that tend to have x and so forth? On a related note, has anyone (maybe from PC datamining?) put together a list of all blueprints? I'm curious how high some of the upgrades go, like I have the 3rd Jetpack upgrade, is there a 4th etc etc.

I hope that first question makes sense, I'm really exhausted and don't think I'm articulating it very well >_>

Haven't been around for two days. Just curious, are we still stuck around the 5m creature size limit or have we found proper dino-like animals? Has anyone found a portal that actually works?

All signs point to this game never coming to XBox.

mmmmh. Ok thanks for the answers. So, i have to buy a PS4.
I tried this game at the home of my friend, and he kidnapped me.

You need plasma grenades for your multitool. I don't know if it's rare, but I found my blueprint in an abandoned outpost on one of my worlds. You build it and put it in a slot on your tool, and it deforms the land as well as speeds up mining a bit.

Does every starting system have a space station? I need to sell all these artifacts. My inventory is completely full.

I've been destroying stuff to make room and I don't like wasting my stuff like this.

I can't find any traders on the planet.

If you can't find one, just go up to the space station and back. It shouldn't take that long.

Doubtful and the reasoning isn't because of Sony. If they were to port it they would need to print more discs for the physical release at a minimum because launching at $60 on a console digital only would be sucide. Even before that they would need to consider it worth the investment in the first place.

Captain's log. Star date 160813. Been on the same planet for three days now. Temperate weather. Learned over 80 vy'keen words here. Plentiful in nickel and emeril. The fauna are diverse. The giant land dwellers are docile, while the small crab-like animals are aggressive.

There is an upgrade that give you grenades , those grenades can shape the terrain .. be aware that some upgrades to those grenade can change their behavior EVEN more.

I've seen canyons, valleys (in between small mountains), and rivers, but not all on the same planet. And the canyons were a bit more like large fissures, not grand canyon-sized or anything. Haven't found any really tall mountain planets yet.

It's not a game for everyone. I played 300 hours of Animal Crossing, and that's a game about nothing and doing repetitive mundane task in a very enclosed space, which there's restrictions on how often per day you can even do that.

For others we don't mind the repetition, and as I've noted there's other things to do besides mining. I love the cryptic lore threads the most. But again, respectfully this just might not be your cup of tea and that's fine. We all have our limits.

Yeah, maybe you right. Sony scares me. The only choice for me is to buy a ps4. Maybe for my birthday. lol

How dare you compare animal crossing to this :/

many hours in now and I have no scanner tech for my ship. I think I just found one too but nothing shows in the upgrade menu under that tab.
