Basically Pokemon Stadium in NMS.

Pretty cool. I imagine the creatures have evolved into a really diverse mix by now, especially with all the updates and the sheer number of worlds out there.

This is awesome. NMS is the best $30 I've ever spent in gaming. I have over 500+ hours with the game already and I still play it all the time...

No Mans Sky at launch: Base game, tons of stuff missing, gamers disappointed (I've been playing since day 1)

Developers: We're sorry. We'll fix it

10 years later: Insane amount of updates, free content drops, game evolves to be a whole ecosystem and is phenomenal.

Gamers: Dudes, we get it. You apologized. You more than made up for it, you're all good!

Developers: Well, we have this one more thing....

Really rubbing it in, and I kind of dig it. Nintendo acts like a dick sometimes and they deserve some backlash.

Hello Games really makes other devs look greedy and lazy. I will have to check out Light No Fire when it comes out, even though it's not my genre.

This is now (basically) a totally different game from when it launched.
Yeah. But the problem is that you still need to create your own fun/goals. The gameplay is still as shallow as a puddle.

I really hope this teams next game has a fun narrative and actual combat.

I like a good soup with many ingredients, but at this point this game has just too many inside it. I guess they need the money for the next game.

True, but that's not exactly a "problem" when (shit) "games" like Roblox not only exists but thrives.

Definitely looking forward to their next project though, and hopefully it being a bit more...structured.

Did they even apologize and say they'll fix it? If I recall they STFU, went into a cave, and just started churning out updates.

I'm surprised they never ported NMS to mobile platforms. Seems like something that would do very well in that market.

Also nuts to witness just how much they have turned this game around over the years. I couldn't play for more than a few hours (it's not for me) when I had another go recently, and the difference between now and original release is staggering.

One thing I always wanted them to add was some kind of "main" planet, with a city.

Not asking for a super detailed insane city, but just a place known in the game as a popular hub for players, with more life on it, different popular locations on a same planet. A place you could visit when you want to see more population. I know there is already the anomaly for this kinda, but an actual city on one planet could be cool.

Oooh, PlayStation Home 2.0 within No Mans Sky?

Time to mod some Pokemons and Palworld fauna in the Pc version.

You can tell the people who need to be led around by the nose and given a checklist by how they talk about NMS. It's easily one of the best space games ever made and has a ton of shit to do, but because it doesn't explicitly tell you what do do every step of the way and doesn't have cutscenes every five minutes it's "boring".

Just remember to vote for Baulder's Gate 3 for best community support on the Steam Awards! Definitely don't vote for NMS who goes out of their way constantly to provide free updates with new gameplay elements.

I have purchased it! Installing, will try it this weekend.
take your time with the game, you may feel overwhelmed at first, but endure and you ll have a blast ( my pro tip is...terraforming is your friend when trying to escape hazard storms ), follow the story when you are tired of exploring and go explore when you are tired of the campaign.

if you dont like some minor spoilers take a look on some beginners guide, it ll help a lot

I feel like some of these content updates are tests for Light No Fire's eventual release. They're probably measuring player feedback too.
They are doing a lot of work to the engine to implement new features and capabilities, at least part of that is brought back to NMS.

Back when they introduced corvettes Sean Murray also talked about the tech being developed for the use of boats and crews to navigate the oceans in Light No Fire.

To me it seems like a sensible approach. All NMS updates are free and being a sandbox most if not all of the new mechanics can be ignored if you don't like them or care about them.
They can get feedback concerning potential technical issues and metrics about how players engage with the new content.
