No Zoo Keeper DS impressions?

Or Pacman, Galaga, Mario etc etc.
Come to think of it, Ridge Racers is pretty much the same as previous games but in a new package. So what? Most gamers appreciate presentation as part of the package.

The point I'm making is that you can play Bejewled right now on the computer you're currently using and it's free. It's the same damn game as Zoo Keeper. You don't have to wait, you don't have to buy anything. If you need to see the word Nintendo somewhere just write in on a piece of tape and stick it on your monitor.

I honestly can't believe you people sometimes.

It's not related to the Nintendo brand at all, that's the point of this argument. If it were on the PSP I'd be playing it too. Bejeweled looks like crap and you can't play it on a handheld anyway. End of discussion.

You can play it on my cell phone. Or any laptop. Or palm pilot.

Please send me your cellphone or palm then :P
I am not carrying my Vaio around with me everywhere, and actually, I have Zoo Keeper on my cellphone too for when I'm not carrying my DS with me. It cost me 300 yen to download it onto my cellphone though :lol

I can't play it on your cell phone (and there's probably no stylus input).
I don't have a laptop, and it's too cumbersome to get out on a train platform anyway, and you need space for a mouse...
I don't own a palm pilot.

The palm version of BJ is probably the closest thing, and if everyone already had a palm then this would be almost a viable argument.

Zoo Keeper is the version of the game that people enjoy most, and its the first time its been available on a practical handheld games machine.

It's insane that it costs $40.

I see Besbuy.com has it for $35, but I would still not pay more than $30 for it. I will have to wait, I guess!

I've heard that the DS version is alot more than 'bejeweled with animals'

Anyway if your talking about free games. The Zoo Keeper flash game is free too.

Exactly, whoever says that the game is like Tetris obviously hasn't played it before. If anything, it's just a rehashed version of Bejewled.

Did you even read this topic? No-one is likening it to Tetris.

I got Bejeweled free with my Clie about a year and a half ago, and at first it just felt like a simplified version of Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon. About 6 months ago, I really started playing it more and am now quite addicted. The stylus really makes the game, especially when you stop tapping pieces to move and learn to use quick slashing strokes instead.

Two player will make me get Zoo Keeper, but there is a Bejeweled 2 out now which I intend to check out when I get the chance.

Zoo Keeper is a bit different than Bejeweled. The differences are apparent to anyone who's actually played both.

You have "quotas" of specific animals that you have to pick out of the crowd and capture before the level progresses. If you don't meet the quota by the time the timer runs out, game over. If there are no moves left, the game is not over; in fact you get a whole new screen to work with. You can also earn limited uses of "binoculars" which allow you to see any possible moves you've missed.

So you have specific targets you are trying to eliminate. It sounds minor but it really changes the game dynamic.

There is also the quest mode thingy where you get little assignments like "score 50K" or "get 4 2-chain combos" for a change of pace... kinda like how Klax worked.

My thoughts exactly. I want it, but not that badly.

I got it and I'm playing it right now. First impressions:

It seems polished for a puzzle game. It's more polished than Hitofude. Nice and colorful too.
There seems to be alot of modes. The voice is pretty nice too.

Oh moving tiles with the stylus works perfectly. I was worried the icons would be too small but it may work even better than the mouse.

Someone told me it was 31.99 at Costco.
I will attempt to verify this tomorrow :P

Well the games pretty good but there's not much to it. Quest mode is pretty decent, but the main game is like doing the same thing over and over again just for high score. Haven't tried multiplayer.

The stylus works REALLY well for this game. It's definitely better than using a mouse since you just drag the tiles instead of clicking on them. It's alot faster.
