Hi, I'm into 80s music but I am completely oblivious to the non-English 80s music scene outside of 99 Luftballons.

Can anyone offer some recommendations? I'm open to pretty much anything.

Couldn't really find anything, but during my search I did stumble upon Münchener Freiheit, a great great german band, which brings me back to the 80s when my dad pretty much played them nonstop.

If your into 80's and would like to see what was happening in the Spanish speaking side during that era do a search for "80's rock en espanol" Groups like Virus, enanitos verdes rata blanca etc. had their best stuff then. Lots of great pop/new wave then in espanol!

Now, if non-american music is ok even though sung in English, Yello is a must when talking about 80s music. Few samples:
