History heads out on the drag strip as classic cars are transformed into fine tuned machines, revamped and ready for the speedway. The series, hosted by turbo twins Marc and Eric Kozeluh, combines reality, renovation and competition to create a fascinating hour-long program that brings the classics to the contemporary.

Part reality show, part history, FULL THROTTLE gives car lovers the chance to ride into history. Two teams are each given the same model of a classic car in similar disrepair. Supplied with a garage, tools and parts, they've got two days to get their wheels high performance as they prepare to compete in an all-or-nothing drag race. The winner drives away in both cars; the loser walks away empty-handed.

FUCK! now the history channel, learning channel, and discovery channel have been taken over by reality tv....

The content on all of these channels was fairly soft (as far as their information to entertainment ratio) to begin with...so it's really no surprise.

It's not so much the reality-tv part that makes me :rolleyes

it's the "DUDE WE'RE SO COOL MAKING SHIT FROM METAL AND DRINKING BEERS! MORE POWER YEE HAW!!" crap

Discovery has like what, 5 of these shows already? The last vestige of intelligent entertainment for me was the History Channel, and now it's infected with this junk.

The show being a reality show isn't what disappoints me. It's the fact that it's a reality show about scumbag tuners. When will this shitty fad end?

I like how the guys are always so fucking stressed out all the time.

Oh and David Carradine took over his brother Keith Caradines hosting duting on Wild West Tech.

Gee, you'd think that they'd have something like "Trading Pages", where two people rearrange each other's libraries or something.

Either way, I'm tired of this trend too.

I miss actually learning stuff from TLC and the discovery channel. You know when they had real documetarys.

if you see me in a fight with a bear, don't help me fool, help the bear!
It doesn't belong on the History Channel... but the show doesn't sound so bad...

It's really sad, even the novelty sub channels on digital cable are starting to become really lame and boring. Well, there's always PBS at least.........

From the thread title, I figured it was going to be a show about a sassy team of experts decorating buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. So the alternative doesn't sound quite as bad...

The only good channel I actually learn anything from anymore is Discovery Times, which usually runs pretty damn good documentaries on current affairs and some history things. If you get it, I would highly recommend watching it every now and then.

Which is being infected with reality shows as well! But at least a few of them are somewhat interesting. And TBS is really starting to be taken over by the reality show nonsense.
