Nostalgic SH2 trailers - Best experience this gen

Can't anyone find the american commercial where Mary is talking in the background and it just shows gameplay from the game like pyramid head monsters popping out. Creppy commercial.

Oh yeah, those rocked. I recall thinking that the Fall 2000 trailer was actually CG and was shocked when it turns that it was not. Still a beautiful game today. It's also nice to be able to actually read the text in the trailer now...

However, as far as SH trailers are concerned, SH4 is THE king. The E3 Silent Hill 4 trailer was absolutely mindblowing to the point that it painted the game as something it was not. :(

Yeah. The SH4 trailer was really great. Still, it didn't have the impact as the SH2 trailers/game had but still, emotional music and great cutting in the SH4 trailer.

OK, I just looked at the entire Fall trailer and there ARE a couple CG shots in there (when they show the characters up close, mainly). However, I was specifically thinking of the first part of the trailer (when that creature first comes to life in front of James).

I remember when I First played the game, I let the game sit there with James standing before the mirror for a few seconds before I realized that I was actually in control and no longer watching a cutscene.

Oh, and Silent Hill 2 was THE very first game I had witnessed with a full blown shadow engine (in which ALL objects in the environment could cast shadows upon themselves). Not only that, but they were soft shadows.

I did the exact same thing... it ruled.

Oh man, these bring back memories. Silent Hill 2 ranks in my all-time favorietes still. I remember getting it for Christmas holiday 2001 and playing it through together with my girlfriend. We would watch the intro dozens of times to pick up clues on the plot.

With the ambience and athmosphere, the sense of lonelyness and claustrophobia in the hospitals, the incredibly memorable and emotional music, the inexplicable fear and the puzzle of a plot, this game was pure magic to me.

man, SH2 is such an amazing game anybody would want to play to know what happens. The game makes you SOOO curious that theres no way you wont want to touch the game once u see trailers

But SH3 looks so much better in screenshots that I want to buy that game instead. Do I have to buy SH2? :'(

I'm sure there are flaws to SH2, but its one of those games that has such a high quality to it that it's perfect to me.
I played SH2 Restless Dreams on the Xbox, and have since sold my Xbox but I bought the PS2 version so I can go through it again sometime. I hope that the experience is the same.

Whoa whoa WHOA..."have" to? Come on, man, SH2 is a must play. They are both so cheap, I think you should do both of them. Hell, if you haven't played SH1, play that as well (as SH3 is a direct sequel to SH1, while 2 is completely unrelated).

Actually, the PS2 version is a bit better looking and more polished than the XBOX version (though the XBOX version has a nice perpixel flashlight beam)...so you'll be fine.

Ah, great memories. I remember renting this game and ICO during the same week. It was just the beginning of great games for PS2's life :)

It really does make you think of what they'll be capable of when they start working on SH5 next gen. With PSone I don't think most really found it to be all that technically impressive although it had amazing art. They were one of the devs that stood up this gen to rival the best devs out there when it came to graphics.

it's one of the best looking PSone games. Not sure what kind of crack you're on.
