RULES:
- Only two people on the raft at one time.
- Only the mother, father & officer can operate the raft.
- The mother cannot be left with the sons w/o the father.
- The father cannot be left with the daughters w/o the mother.
- The thief cannot be left with anyone w/o the officer.

GOAL:
- Get all eight people across the river.

Took me about 10 minutes to solve.

My biggest problem was that I didn't realize that "Can't leave ___ alone with ___" meant that you can't raft somebody across and just leave one of the two people there. What kind of fucked up family is this that the dad can't drive his son across the river without hunting down one of his daughters to beat the shit out of her? Even my family wasn't this bad growing up. My strategy going in was way off because of that.

Ohhh, I got it. I dunno what I was thinking. You essentially have to end the game with the same technique that you started it with.

When I saw those rules and saw that the game was Japanese I thought there was going to be some great molestation humor, but instead it's less-funny child-abuse humor.

its chinese, so its kind of surprising that this family has 4 kids. Even more shocking is that 2 of the kids are girls!
