November EGM scores

The final retail build fixes a lot of the slowdown issues that were present in the review build sent to EGM.

As usual this is NOT THEIR FAULT because SONY sent them a build of the game marked as REVIEWABLE, which they then REVIEWED, so the fact that SONY then went and changed the game after the fact, contradicting some parts of the review, is SONY's fault, NOT EGM, who while lovely guys cannot travel through time and have to play what the companies send them.

In any case it means a better retail copy of the game and isn't that the most important thing!

So the comments of the PS2 can't keep up with it's aging hardware in regards to SOTC real finished output was pointless.

I think che got the same build and he had no problems with it. He said the frame rate was stable. Just watch the IGN demo vs Final game video, it doesn't have texture pop up or any frame rate problems.

I wonder what the devs for the latest Evil Dead game are thinking..."This time, we'll make a game that'll score above 6!" And then they fail. Another dev takes a crack at it, and the same result occurs.

Just make an Evil Dead FPS and be done with it. >8 score and lots of sales, THE END.

Uh, did you read the review?

"...the game's glaring technical problems and perplexing design choices continually force you to second-guess the ingenuity and subtle beauty you're beholding."

That doesn't sound like a 9 game to me. It sounds like you guys got caught up in the eye candy and slapped a high score on it.

I still plan on picking the game up, but the complaints made really have me worried.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks 7.5/8.0/7.5
Trauma Center: Under the Knife. 7.5/8.0/6.0
Shadow of the Colossus. 9.0/8.5/9.0
We love Katamari. 8.5/8.0/8.0
Battalion Wars. 6.0/6.5/7.0
Popolocrois. 5.0/5.5/6.5
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. 9.5/9.0/8.5 GOTM
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 7.0/6.5/8.5
Indigo Prophecy 8.5/9.0/8.5

Some strange scores in there, but I'll say Popolocrois is the most disappointing. I didn't know anything about it beforehand, but i guess it sucks?

well GameInformer of all Magazines gave Popolocrois an 8.1(or so I've heard) so I'll reserve my judgement untill more reviews have been released and that I've tried it for myself.

Doesn't look to bad to be honest, but for a game that was released quite a while back I kind of understand why one may be so hard on it. (Like reviewing a psx game in the age)

It's an rpg, so hey!

I'm one of the bigger Advance Wars fanboys on this board, and I never used the stylus once to play AWDS. I'm just used to moving the cursor using the dpad.

I love the stylus, It took some getting used to at first, but after playing the game for a week or so I can't stand switching back to the D-pad, and really helps me cut down my performance time for timed levels like the one with the black onyx. It's also great for being lazy and doing everything with one hand. I think the fact that I played a lot of combat mode before starting the campaign, since combat is terrible with the d-pad, helped me ease into the stylus (plus playing Ouendan and Meteos before hand helped)

My only problem with the stylus cotnrols occurs when you need to find the range of fire for big cannons or the like. It becomes difficult to display the range and then scroll around to see the areas of fire that are off screen. I agree that it is great so many games give you the option to use the stylus or the d-pad. I hope they fix that scrolling issue for AW:DS2 if the keep the stylus as an option

their rumor section keeps getting worse and worse! Bioware is working on 2 X360 games and 1 PC game. The X360 games will be published by MS

The IP was created by and totally owned by Bioware.
Thanks. I'll try to remember it this time.

In that case, the rumor could be true of course, which again probably just means that the game will be made for both PS3 and X360.

The build EGM reviewed/Che made comments on and the build that was captured in that video are not the same. I'm pretty sure the IGN videos are from something much newer. It looks like it has a lot better framerate and it definitely has a *real* widescreen mode, as opposed to the cut top & bottom that was obvious in the older videos from the time this review was probably being written.
